Worth the stop if only for the view of the dam! We had a lovely and quickly-served breakfast with plenty of “slap tjips” - vinegar available on the table and highly recommended. Clean facilities and friendly service. Pet friendly with a lovely little garden behind the restaurant that’s also good for human legs to have a stretch.Service: 5/5

We stopped at Tom's place restaurant very tired on a Sunday evening after 19h. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and enjoyed our meal. I'm not generally a cat person, but this little guy was so cute!

1. PERFECTLY LOCATED, JUST OFF THE N1 but feels like far, far away in the great outdoors, 2. PET FRIENDLY at the self-catering units AND restaurant! 3. 24 H/day shop, service 4. BREATHTAKING VIEWS OVERLOOKING THE DAM, while enjoying your braai 5. EXCELLENT FRIENDLY SERVICE! Food & drinks: The shop, restaurant and petrol station are open 24H/day!

Dont stop to get colddrinks if youre diabetic. Theres not one zero sugar drink besides water in the shop.

We stopped for a quick snack at the restaurant. We were greeted by friendly staff and a clean restaurant. We didn't order anything spectacular - it was well prepared. There was however a lady sitting very strategically, chain smoking and blowing the smoke right through the restaurant spoiling our visit.

Beautiful views and delicious fish, service was a bit off, but the food and environment compensated for it. There's beavers and meerkats around, which was really cool. The playground was a nice touch as well. Food & drinks: Strawberry milkshake is better than chocolate, and I'm normally a chocolate fan.

Perfect stop between Cape Town and Kruger Park. Clean, pleasant, so reasonable, self catering or Restaurant. They even delivered our food to the Chalet. Great experience. Nearby activities: Sailing on the dam. Camping available. Food & drinks: Lovely little Restaurant under thatched veranda or inside. Food very reasonably priced and tasty. Not gourmet, but tasty.

Located between Bloemfontein and Colesberg. Nice restaurant with a view over the Tierpoort dam. Food was tasty and homemade. They do offer accommodation, although did a quick rest stop on route. Food & drinks: Limited affordable menu - breakfast and lunch.

The dam it self is good and the facilities are clean and maintained but that all went down the drain once you get to do with the Lady in charge. She is extremely rude. We were supposed to be out by 18h00. We started packing up just after 5 but due to the heavy rain they did not allow vehicles next to your camping spot. This made loading the bakkie time consuming. Also due to the heavy rain the boat jetty was flooded and caused a further delay in loading our Jetski. We got out at 18h16 but only after her rude comments. She said that if this happens again then she will ban us from the dam. Being a paid customer and in every situation we gave her the utmost respect. We did not play any load music, we followed all rules as best as they are displayed except for checking out late. I found it a being horrible situation. Instead of belittling people rather give them I fine of which I would have been happy to pay.
