What a useless Government department. Just like all Government dpts No calls are answered. Beyond PATHETIC. Typical from people that wants to run a Government, but useless as mud. Pure oxygen thieves. Fire the lot of them. There are lots of people looking for jobs. Please appoint COMPETENT people.
Absolute dud unit with skills base and logic fast going to zero. How they have deteriorated in recent years. Recently TWO RoADS complained as individuals household having no power. After 2 days half the road was restored so the duds saw few houses had lights so the so called technicians left without verifying if the entire road was restored. I phoned the duds at the complaints unit again and they reckon I must start again with complaints process. Half the roads have no power for 6 day now. Councillors are not responding. Why the hell do they ask for our addresses and phone numbers when they don't verify if the problem is resolved.
They really have no staff to help you ,when someone does come after a few hours then he's going for tea and leaves you unhelped. Our system really needs some serious changes

I have called Isipingo, Amanzimtoti, Durban HQ, KwaMashu, Umhlanga, none of my calls are being answered, other calls just cut off while I am still waiting. There's obviously something seriously wrong with the way they handle their calls. This is not how a community is supposed to be treated by the municipal officials.
36 hours no electricity 31st & 01 New Years Pathetic service, staff should rather take a pay cut. This could be used to subsidized the city's debt. Unless people working in that department. Called so many times and when I do get through to a agent, ask him a question, didn’t even want to listen just transferred me, as per attached picture, out of all the phone calls I have been holding for this long and still holding. No customer service nor enough product knowledge at all. Prepaid electricity needs voucher to refill but not allowing us to purchase, ask if it was offline but it wasn’t according to the shops or online services. If I cannot go through to a call center agent, who else can help? Every other unit has electricity in my complex except mine! Terrible terrible terrible! They think we have the time in the world to wait on the phone for them and when a agent comes on they won’t even listen to you when you ask and just transfer your call and make you hold 3+ hours and still holding!
I'm not even gona rate for what nothing gets done its a waste of time bonella in durban get power outages every second day and they keep saying cabel faults how many times can a person repair the same cable over and over don't they think the fibre guys damaged so many times on the same line should it not be replaced instead of joining the cables everywhere and charge it to the fibre contractors it's very frustrating as most people are working from home how do they want us to live with they incompetence
The place is a disaster and the employees are arrogant. Municipal employees as supposed to be public servants and are paid by the taxpayer but they treat customers like they are doing the public a favor. The delivery of service is deplorable and there are load shedding constantly. This disrupts business and productivity and the management is pillaging the coffers for their own personal gain, but the rest of the government are the same. Even though I grew up during the apartheid years I am ashamed of this government because the delivery of certain services were reliable and the maintenance and upkeep of the country was the envying of others in the world.
Disgusting service. Electricity Bill's are skewed and when you call the electricity section they tell.you they cant assist. Something very wrong as my bill escalated and them when I moved out the apartment I was renting it still generates a bill. The meter readers seem to unqualified and READ INCORRECT AMOUNTS. NO ACCOUNTABILITY....very bad service and when.queries are opened you wait forever for an answer.
