Pre-School Activity Book (+ Teacher Guide + isiZulu edition) with basic activities for Grade R learners.
Simple picture dictionaries in English, isiZulu, isiXhosa and Afrikaans. Suitable for Grades 1 to 3. Learners add their own words to their dictionaries.
Phonics – Simply Phonics and Simply the Best Phonics Workbooks for Grades 1 & 2. There is a choice of Natalia and Print script for the initial grades.
Spelling – the phonics range is followed with a series entitled Essential Spelling Programme. These workbooks are suitable for Grade 3 and above.
Developing Language Skills is a series of workbooks progressing from Grade 1 to Grade 7. This series includes grammar and some exercises which challenge learners.
Simply English is a series that was written for learners who do not have English as mother tongue. Suitable for Grade 3 (English 2nd language) and above.

Trumpeter Shared Reading Book 1 – a large format (47 cm x 67 cm) ring bound book that can be placed on the teacher’s table or hung on a wall for all learners to read. Thirty full colour pages incorporating stories, rhymes, songs and picture interpretation. Suitable for the Foundation Phase (including Grade R).
Lighten Up (+ teacher Guide) – a medley of literature for Intermediate Phase learners. Teacher guide contains language and comprehension questions related to each article in the reader.
Grimes – a book of hilarious poems about children.

We are fully aware of the pressures that teachers experience in and out of the classroom (preparation, marking, individual learner attention, assessment, responding to parents .. the list is never ending) and wanted to assist by preparing supplementary workbooks that would give teachers some ‘breathing space’.
While we have focused on the ‘basics’ in languages and mathematics in the lower grades so as to form a firm foundation, we have also attempted to ‘raise the standards’ in the higher grades (3 -7). Our workbooks are systematic and attempt to develop knowledge in a logical manner. We have also incorporated revision exercises in our foundation workbooks so that learners are ‘reminded’ of what was covered in the previous year/book.
Our workbooks are written by teachers who are aware of the learners’ needs and as a result the books are user-friendly and relevant.
We are constantly negotiating printing prices so that we can provide workbooks that are affordable to schools. We have estimated that it is more cost effective to purchase a Trumpeter workbook for each learner than it would be to prepare and photocopy worksheets for each individual learner in a grade.
