United Capricorn Artists' Co-operative Limited ("UCA") is a Capricorn based recording artists' co-operative established by Capricorn artists. UCA are:
*Improving the members' working conditions of recording artists in terms of income and working environment.
*Improving member's ability to record quality music.
* Developing the business skills of recording artists.
* Facilitating and encouraging greater innovation
*Optimising musicians' access to live performance venues, access to distribution networks, access to markets etc
* Joint marketing, promotion and branding of recorded music and
* Any matter that would help uplifting the music business environment of recording artists.
UCA has realised that most Capricorn based recording artists, just like the majority of recording artists in the rest of South Africa, live in relative poverty. The reasons for this are varied and range from issues such as lack of promotion and marketing of their products, inability to access markets, inability to get their products onto distribution networks, piracy, lack of knowledge, etc
