v disappointed with my service. Filthy rag and parts left in the engine well.interior partly cleaned but empty bottle and plastic parts left behind. Expensive quote for unnecessary work...clutch kit quoted when adjustment to pedal play needed. Dirty grease marks left on hatch. Obvious missing parts weren't offered for service is mirror adjuster..fallen into the door cavity.no rear view mirror..missing, side mirror damaged. As a supposed vw specialist service center this was mediocre service . To cap it the company pasted advertising on my rear window without permission.
Had my 1971 VW T3 Fastback restored front to back by Vdubtech costing me in the region of R95k and had a very bad experience: 1. Original Bilstein jack went "missing" while at their workshop; they claimed it was never in the car when it was accepted for repairs. The original sun visors were also never reinstalled and - despite repeated calls to get them back - they never materialised; cost to buy new ones and a new generic jack was R3500. 2. Carbs were "rebuilt" but were so badly done that they leaked fuel through the throttle shafts and the car had a constant flat spot. I had to have them done over again by another specialist R3000 and import proper carb kits R2800. Bear in mind the car went back once because of misfiring and fuel flooding and the assurance was it the plugs. 3. When the vehicle was returned for the misfire they damaged the paint on the passenger side door and I had to have that repaired at a cost of R2500 prior to the full respray having to be done 4. Body resprayed by them as part of the +- R95k; wrong colour used for the model and within 3 years all the rust and rot had returned. Recently had to have the vehicle resprayed and the rust repaired costing me another R35k 5. Engine fully rebuilt but had low oil pressure; when I raised this initially they claimed it must be the sender unit; I replaced it with a high quality OEM equivalent but there was no improvement and the oil light still flickered on at low revs after the engine was hot. After driving the engine for 3000km I took the car to EMC Motors and found that the crank case was not properly line bored, the wrong oil pressure springs were used, the crank seal was badly installed, they reused the old oil pump, the cam was the wrong one for the engine, and they had used pistons and barrels that were not 1600. I had to have the engine redone for another R15k. I will never recommend, nor use them again; in my opinion they do not warrant being used for classic VW work.Services: Steering & suspension repair
