This is a really good gym. Aqua lounge. Jacuzzi , hot water and cold dip pools available. All the machines are working and is well spaced out. Definitely one of my favourite virgin active in the area
Easy to join but when you need to cancel they will never assist you. all they care about is to keep deducting your money.
The staff is friendly and always willing to help. The equipment has been upgraded so it isn’t as outdated as before. The gym has 2 poolsone is heated and an aqua lounge with a sauna and jacuzzis, which I think is a nice touch. I also love that they have Kauai right there in the gym, as well as a dietitian, if you’re in need of one. They have a yoga studio, a studio for other classes like grid and they also have a reformer pilates studio. Honestly, the only thing I’d like them to improve on is the lighting in the gym. I can’t fault them on anything else.
The gym is neat and tidy. The staff is friendly. The machines are well kept. The access control is very easy and hassle free

I wish that the number of people who come here to gym because the Virgin Actives gym they go to has no power can be limited. Because the people who actually pay to gym here struggle to get equipment to be able to gym. Especially as members at this gym cannot go to another gym if there is loadshedding according to 2 sms's we received from virgin active. We even come to the gym late at night not only because we work till late but so that we can hopefully get equipment to use but then almost all of it is occupied by people from other gyms. We understand that they also pay to gym at their gym and if the power is off they are at a disadvantage but now it causes people at other gyms like this one to also be at a disadvantage. Please do something
I've been training at VA in Constantia and went to a few others so far this year and I have to say that the Centurion one is by far the best. Facilities supercede the others and the all round atmosphere is
Great gym. What I really enjoy is that it is kid friendly. They have a kiddies gym section so that the kids can also get some exercise while you are busy gyming. Not just TV or colouring books they have a program to make sure they kids are nice and tired when it's time for collection. They also have a smaller pool for kids to learn and swim! Clean and hygienic even when busy.
In my opinion, equipment serviceability, quality and organisation thereof, air conditioning, space and effectiveness and efficiency of staff are by far the top criteria for assessing the "class" of a gym. "Friendly staff", as someone else here stated in review, "is a bonus" - of secondary importance. This gym is failing dismally in the air conditioning department. For at least 2 years the air conditioning at this gym has been at best "just okay" half of the time. Seemingly, the other half of the time it's non-existant. I normally train in the timeslot from 19:00 onwards. The standard answer the past few years from staff has been that "there is a problem with the air conditioning, it will be sorted". Well, clearly not! ...So, be ready for heat and humidity - at least half of the time. By the way, my number has been taken down more than once - I've never been contacted In terms of space, this gym is great. Importantly, it is also clean. The equipment is, generally, clean and seviceable. Broken equipment can sometimes take weeks to a month or even more to fix. The machine equipment is of older ergonomical design - "previous generation" - not erogonomically advanced like Planet Fitness's. Therefore, it does not isolate or target the muscle or muscle group as effectively as "next generation" equipment does. Generally, free weights, especially dumbells but some times barbells too are strewn all over the place - sometimes not even to be found in the free weight area at all. The gym rule/ettiquette of "putting back" or "re-racking" the weights is not enforced or actively encouraged by staff. Though, the staff is friendly enough to help you search for a weight. Judging it's class is up to you with your specific requirements for being active, but "World Class" it's definately not - at least at this point in time, Jan 2023. ...Hope it improves to become "top class", in Gauteng at least.
Absolutely love this gym. Enjoyed the aqua lounge the most. Its not too full. Decency in change rooms goes a long way.
