Welgekozen Country Lodge

What a gem in the middle of despair. The food, service, staff and owners Bob & Betty are great!! Loved being here everyday. Enjoyed the tidy and beautiful gardens and sitting next to the pool in the mornings after breakfast. I can highly recommend Welgekozen for short, long or overnight stay. If you don't, you most certainly miss out on a little piece of paradise. Rooms: We stay in a cottage. It is very spacious and well furnished with good quality. Our cottage is serviced everyday and the staff are very friendly and competent. Safety: I felt safe everyday. Walkability: The N2 Mall is across the roads as well as the service station with Mugg & Bean and some other fast food places. Food & drinks: Breakfast and Dinner prepared with care and well presented. Top quality. Noteworthy details: My Problem - the trucks are very busy from 5:00 am till about 11:00 pm on the road right next to the guesthouse grounds. But if it is really a challenge, get some sleeping tablets

What a lovely place! I can highly recommend Welgekozen! The staff are so friendly, the food is wonderful they cater for gluten allergies, the rooms are clean and have all that you need, and they have backup power during loadshedding.Rooms: 5/5

On very short notice I could make use of their conference facilities for 3 days due to their generator capacity. Piet Retief is crippled with 4 hour load shedding slots, almost 3 times a day. The owner and staff are excellent, accommodating and upbeat in their service delivery. My course attendees loved the place, catering and atmosphere. A future visit is a sure thing. Second visit, what an experience. Excellent service from all staff, homely atmosphere where everybody feels like family, fantastic room, 5 star food. What else is there to stay. This place deserves 5 stars. Conference catering once again excellent.
