Feb 2019 -Nice and quiet, but so were the fish, unfortunately 2 of my mates that were with me got tick bite fever. November 2019 - went again, a lot more successful on the fishing front but was shocked to see the rivers water level was about 7 feet shallower than February, a lot of rain needed, this is a great place though.

New year's breakaway to the quietness we needed.

The Wilgerivier is beautiful, picturesque and peaceful. The river banks are clean and it's easy to get to the river. But there is is not much else. The ablutions are usable, although not upmarket. It serves the purpose, when the water is running. No electric power. It is very rustic and premative - you'll have to bring your own caravan or tents. You can have a ball there, nobody to bother you! Ha. There are no mosquitoes BUT it's camping - always take your insect repellent!
