Willem Pretorius Game Reserve is the largest game reserve in the Lejweleputswa District Municipality of South Africa, encircling the Allemanskraal Dam. The Sand River flows from east to west through the reserve. It was opened to the public in 1961 and covers.ClimateThe reserve receives an annual rainfall of 560 mm on average, mostly falling from December to February during heavy thunderstorms. Here I am at 7:02 in front of the gate and there is no-one in sight. No signs and I have no idea when and where to enter. All internet communication says it opens at 7:00. Staff arrived at 7:26 with loud music and no apologies. Won’t come again.Visited onWeekday

The Willem Pretorius Game Reserve does not seem to be open to the public anymore. We arrived there today 20 Dec 2021 and there was a chain around the gate with a big padlock. The phone numbers available on the internet do not work either. It is a great pity to see this after visiting this park for over 40 years.

Worst weekend ever. We had to move camp site more then 2 first they moved us next to a drain then we flooded with water .  Then we flooded again  and had to sleep in the car.  Not going back to that place any time soon

The place under-rated. It offers  tranquility. I cannot wait to visit the place when it's fully functional.  Restrooms: Spotless clean

The resirve is in good condecion but the bush camp is a dump
