Willie's Confectionery

Review concerns the behavior of one of the business’ drivers at Pick&Pay SE2 on 13 March. Drove out if the parking lot, turning right into my path even though I had right of way. Seriously? Where did he get his license from?! I hooted at him out of fright and frustration and he dared throw a middle finger at me! Drove in front of me for a bit , slowly throwing signs at me. Not acceptable behavior while in a branded vehicle!

My daughter bought me a sausage roll this afternoon- THE WORST I'VE EVER HAD and some unidentified object in the pie

Im giving this shop a 3 star rating based on the food the times I've bought.I will say the times I purchased, the baked goods were fresh that day, other than that the shop itself needs cleaning. Dead bugs seen in the shelves near the windows and dust accumulated on imported items that were for sale. Had a huge disappointment when I visited the shop with my daughter. At that moment there were no other customers in the shop, so being a little indecisive as a 3year old we kept going back and forth in the queue. The customer that entered after us, nicely got her items and went to the front and had her items paid for, completely disregarding the fact that we had been in the shop way before her. Also noticing that my daughter was a bit of a fuss, yet she didn't bother the courtesy of asking if she may go ahead before us, by this time my daughter had decided what she wanted. When I complained the cashier paid no mind in calming me down or handling the issue promptly, I'd say that the Store Manager/Owner Willie is rather rude and very racist. Did not even rectify the cashier for having a customer that arrived after us, pay before we could. Bad customer service standards and management service is not what it should be. The vetkoek there is horrible, the use bread dough and deep fry it, the taste is rather floury. Also had an instance where I noticed a dead fly in the cake display absolutely appalled by the state of the operation of this confectionery, Tip Top bakery is still the best if you ask me..

2022.10.25 The lady that was serving us today were very unpleasant and when we asked her what kind of pie that was she made a face. We bought 10 items and she did not even offer us a bag to put in all our stuff. If i come there again and she is behind the counter i will rather go to joe confectionary rather to be serve with a unpleasant face like that This is how you are going to loose business.

The best German rolls, doughnuts etc in town. Please visit them.

Sausage rolls this morning was very disappointing. Now flavour and no mince texture!! And not really cheap at R18.95

Bread is excellent. Older lady working there is rude and unfriendly and I will not shop there if it is her shift.

Amazing place would definitely recommend it if you have a sweet tooth and the willies "ystervarkies" is a must try

Friendly staff always willing to assist..Fresh rolls, bread etc always available..

Now that's where you buy a pie. No where els. The pies are the best
