Truly a wonderful place to visit, the atmosphere was nice and chill, the staff was warm and welcoming. The tour guide truly knocked it out of the park, very knowledgeable, and a natural and interesting presentation of all the information. Engaging. And the activities were very interactive, great place for all ages, literally! I was quite impressed. We will definitely be visiting again when the caves re-open.
It was a wonderful place which I could share some of the videos I took there. The trip was amazing and the site are very informative great for all age groups especially children it widens their minds on fossils and the extinctions of dinosaurs which is something very cool.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 min
Great tranquil place to learn and explore about our origins, taking you back in time. Also quite humbling in the greater scheme of things. Much is yet to be found in Africa. What hidden treasures are patiently waiting to be unearthed within our African soil? I must commend the security guard at the main gate entrance. Very professional, warm and inviting. Great ambassador.
I wish I could give it more stars because the place looks great and the guides are knowledgeable. Ample safe parking. My issue is that various interactive displays do not work and is out of order.
Besides that, it is very cold early in the morning that it's a great visit with more insight into the area and its history. The staff are friendly and helpful. The guide make the visitors feel welcome and encouraged them to participate in the activities. There is a market on specific days and definitely worth the visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Unique. I fell like if there could be more info on how we did paleoanthropology, in last 35 years on rsa, we could be knowing more!!! The place is at "no man's land" .. we need to offer more on the site to make it more tourist friendly..
Fantastic for a family outing. A lot to see and do. Ticket office was open, so no need to pre book. Would recommend that everyone does this at least once!
Would not have made the trip if the caves were not open. Just by itself, it is a so so museum with a rather irrelevant ‘ride’ in the middle of the place. Positives - nice countryside views. Negatives - a long car ride, center does not do justice to the story of the place. Rather tepid guideVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We visited here on public holiday wasn’t to busy but there were a sizeable group of visitors. The boat ride my kids loved and the vortex tunnel was very cool. However the Museum exhibits almost all if not all the interactive ones did not work. The lab where kids can use the microscopes were out of order. We still enjoyed the experience and still a good experience for young kids. it was clean staff friendly. However would have been epic + 5 stars if maintenance was conducted. It seems to that they would have to shut down for a week or 2 in order to sort out all the faulty Equipment.
No wait to enter. The guide was knowledgeable and amiable. It was disappointing that several interactive displays were damaged and not operable. Maintenance has fallen behind but all in all, the site is tidy and clean. The price to enter is not exorbitant. Oh yes, the South African flag is not displayed properly and doesn't enjoy the prominence prescribed by law. That's disappointing since many overseas tourists visit this World Heritage site.
