Oh where to start... maybe with the time I had heat exhaustion to the point of hallucination when my apartment was 89 degrees for a week straight and maintenance declared everything was working fine. Or when there were 3 months straight of fire alarms in the middle of the night. Or when my laundry burnt in the driers in the laundry room. Or when the laundry room caught on fire. Or with my two time elevator entrapment at least one elevator bank isn't working each week - also the elevator certificates were expired so they conveniently moved them out of the elevator and into the leasing office. Or when I lost my key and they forgot to make a spare key of my apartment to keep on file so they told me to "find somewhere else to stay for the night" and then finally gave in but had to quite literally bust down my door at 4am and did not fix it until the very next day so I just didn't have a secure door. So many fun memories and safety hazards at 1500 Mass. And I get to go out with a $700 move out fee. Save yourself the trouble and find another building. I know rent is cheaper here compared to most buildings in the area, but it is NOT worth your health or sanity.
I have lived here for exactly one year. The fire systems has been tripped…10? 12 times? You lose count after the first time you decide not to evacuate. There is a solid 10 or 20 people who do evacuate whenever it happens, out of all of us who live here. There is no good thing I can say about living here that will outweigh the number of people who will die the day this place actually catches fire. As far as I’m concerned, since the management isn’t willing to invest to install a modern fire system, they need to be giving every apartment a free fire escape ladder, immediately. Don’t live here.
A very convenient place to live. I lived at 1500 Mass Apartments for a long time. The staff is very friendly and helpful, notable: Maureen, Dominique, Kimberly and Dorothy, and many others including the owners of the convenient store downstairs! I would strongly recommend this place.
Front office was great! The maintenance status of my apartment on move in, not so great. 5 stars for Kamila, Maureen, and Dominique but only 2 stars for the people who prepared the apartment for my arrival.
I only visited a friend here for a week or so. Clearly the place has been renovated since earlier comments and the roof is nice. Residents and staff all seem respectful and friendly. Biggest issues are: 1 the lack of thermostat in each apt - it was really warm prior to the building turning on the A/C and then way too cold when they did, and 2 there are so many residents that it seems the fire alarms go off often...sometimes 3-4am...which really ruins a night. Otherwise, it’s a nice place, if you can deal w the above and the price is right.
Dorothy cook has become like family. Her professionalism and above and beyond spirit is so warm and welcoming she is always willing to help problem solve for residents and guest.
The manager Dominique and staffs are the best. The Concierges and maintenance staffs provide excellent customer service in a timely manner. I have been living at 1500 Mass Apts for over 20 years and this is the best management we have had. They recently renovated the hallways with new carpet, new paint, new door numbers and laundry room. The hallways are beautiful and we have a nice clean fitness center. 1500 Mass Apts. is a great place to call home.
Update: I have been living here since the start of the pandemic, and really appreciate how responsive staff have been. I recently had 3 service request and they were all addressed quickly. Osman, fixed all the issues in my apartment, and i would like to thank him again on this posting. ‐--------‐------------- The staff managing 1500 Mass Apts are top notch. From start to finish, they were there every step of the way assisting me with everything I need. Shanteria, the lady who gave me a tour, and also happened to be my contact provided me with all the information I needed over the phone and via email. Her response time during the holidays were exceptional. I have yet to move in, and am excited to post a review once I get settled in the apartment by Feb 2020.
I prospected the building and I appreciated Maureen’s courtesy and patience.
I have been living at 1500 Mass for about 3 years after graduating from Georgetown University. Aside from the updated free amenities, prime location, and efficient living design, the management is exemplary. Throughout my time at 1500 mass, all of my requests and needs have been promptly addressed with impeccable customer service. I particularly would like to acknowledge Dominique T. general manager and Shanteria W. leasing officer for the attention detail and cordiality of their work. The concierge team is quite helpful and knowledgeable as well. As a young professional, working in DC, 1500 mass is perfect living community. I don’t plan to leave any time soon.
