22nd Street Shell

I wrote a review 6 months ago and gave this Shell a 1 star. I have given them 6 months to correct the problems. I'm back today to inform you that nothing has changed. It advertised as 24 hours but the overnight employee puts up a sign before 245am that reads will be back at 4. If your not 24 hours, that's fine. Just CHANGE the STORE HOURS!

Cashier was really horrible. Blamed me for not asking for my receipt up front. The guy should not be working at this store. If he owns it. He needs to move ASAP before he gets himself or someone killed. You can’t just talk to people any kind of way. All for asking FOR RECEIPT! Never again.

Bought $10.00 worth of gas Saturday. This place put a $76.00 hold/charge against account. Needless to say they didn't offer a receipt. The bank says all Shell stations do this and that it would drop off but it hasn't. Avoid these stations. I want my money back.

Can’t even pay at the pump. After you insert your card the system just freezes after they snag your card info. Employees inside are slow. Head to chevron down the road for faster service.

Most staff is rude. No prices listed and the constantly change from day to day. The hours are listed that they stay open late but after 130-2am, they just put a sign in the door that says "Be back later" or "Will reopen at 4'. The fountain Mr. Pibb has about a 15,% chance to be working.if you can, go to Tom and Jerry's Chevron instead. It's about a quarter mile away.

definitely recommend. the food was great ! the workers were outstanding. the older black lady was so sweet and very informative and the restaurant employees were very patient and answered all my questions about the food and ordering since it was my first time visiting and i wasn’t sure what to order. i was visiting from out of town but can’t wait to come back to Birmingham so i can visit this store again.

They’ll jack up the prices when you go to pay at the counter so always check the listed price against what they actually charge you. I think that’s why the previous reviewer got yelled at for asking for the receipt. Always ask for the receipt and check the price you’re actually being charged when you go here.

Give Kenny a raise. I drive for Uber pretty much every night of the week so I've stopped it almost every gas station within a 30 mile radius of Birmingham. I'm giving this review and this gas station four stars instead of 2 for one and only reason and that's the attendant named Kenny. He's kind he's inviting he's hopeful he keeps everything clean and he's always on top of everything that you need. For stars because the gas prices are high and I don't go in when the Indian gentleman is working because he's consistently rude, won't let customers use the restroom see: Alabama bathroom law and is completely unhelpful. Give Kenny a raise because he's the only reason I even stop at this gas station.

I stop by this store every morning and sometimes again in the evening and the staff is always friendly. The store and parking lot is clean with ample parking. It's a great place to run in and out when you're in a hurry.

They have no public restroom, won't run a debit card if your total is under $3.50, and look at you like you have three heads if you try to pay with a $50 bill to pay for your soda since they won't run your card for it. Overall not a very customer friendly experience.
