I’m actually surprised I was able to tolerate this gym for 2 years. It is so tiny that the only time it’s not crowded is right when it opens. The equipment they have is also extremely limited, so this is not a good gym if you have specific workouts planned like myself. Their equipment will also break down fairly regularly and they take weeks to months to fix them. For example, they have three cable machines, two of which were down for about 2-3 months until recently. The water fountains in the pictures were broken for about 1-2 months. Their idea of a solution is to throw some buckets under the leaks until they spill over, then replace them with some new buckets instead of actually fixing them. For what I was paying and how many people go there, I find it hard to believe they can’t hire someone to fix something like that relatively fast. There are a couple early morning staff members that I liked, but a good amount of them will sit around and blast their own music or workout while they’re on the clock instead of maintaining the gym. I usually didn’t go at nights, but the one of the last times I did, the closing staff member asked the remaining guests to leave 30 minutes before they actually closed so they can “prep for closing”. I will gladly add an extra 10 minutes to my drive to go to their competitor that is twice the size and has more amenities for 1/3 of the price.
Whoever owns this franchise, please evaluate how outdated and in poor shape your equipment is. I mean come on man, you absolutely have made your return on it with how many people fill this place day after day. So many pieces of equipment need to be replaced
Dirty, old and run down. I asked if they had fixed one of their rowing machines, the front desk guy just shrugged his shoulders. You can never get a bench or platform. Over crowded, they’re selling way too many memberships for this location. Very tight space, always hot, think they have ongoing AC issues. Just overall feels very gross, crowded and not kept up well. Go the extra few miles to another location.
I would avoid this location, go to any 24 Hr Fitness but this one. Gym is cramped, run down, desk staff in the early mornings is rude and obviously don't like their job. They allow homeless members to camp out in the parking lot, when you mention it they tell you they know about and they're members. They allow it. Equipment is worn out. The other locations around town are nice, especially 64th and Ward, 80th and Sheridan is nice, but I would avoid this one at all costs. Not even worth $15 month.
Beware if you're not already fit! We had a membership at a different 24 before they went bankrupt and wow you can tell. This gym was nasty and so so outdated. We couldn't even get through the tour without nasty looks for our size! The layout is ridiculous theres a punching bag and ropes under the stairs in the stair well. Not only would I never pay to go here, there's no amount of money I'd take to workout at this gym.
I've been going to the Highlands 24Hr Gym since 2018, I'm surprised I tolerated it for that long! Now that membership has lapsed I'm taking my business to Anytime Fitness nearby. I do not recommend this branch of 24Hr fitness if you're just starting or an avid Gym goer either way, there are better options. It's always busy and small for the number of people. They're not on top of fixing things in time, they did hire more staff for cleaning, but the equipment is OLD and needs to be replaced or fixed. The water fountain was broken for months, the bathroom faucets are always broken. I'm really sad I had to leave 24hr fitness after being a customer for over 10yrs. Also, it's not really 24 hours, but Anytime Fitness I learned is actually 24hr access to even more Gyms internationally.
This particular location has become so much more likable since COVID forced them to adapt. It's substantially cleaner now and they require reservations and keep it around half-capacity, so competition for machines isn't as fierce or annoying. Bottom line, before COVID it was dirty and crowded. My only real complaint is there is only one bench ahhhhhh! Otherwise the staff is always very friendly and it has everything you need.
Crowded, outdated, lack of proper lifting equipment, small. The value of this gym is about 5-10$ for month at most. The only reason people are members here is because it's one of the few options in the area.
Good gym and hard to beat the price and location. Staff are always very friendly and do a good job keeping the gym clean. Could use more equipment, only one flat bench but they have a couple good squat racks on main floor. It can get busy but I go at 5am so it’s usually not too bad, but it’s common to wait a bit to use certain equipment.
All the staff is so friendly and approachable. I'm learning how to use the gym and I'm never afraid to ask for assistance. The facility overall is maintained extremely well. The equipment is always clean with disinfectant nearby. I'm impressed with all the amenities and equipment at this location
