This was such a unique dining experience in Detroit! My husband and out friends decided to walk here from our hotel, the Renaissance Centre, after reading the great reviews online. It's a bit of a walk from there, and you will pass through a bit of a sketchy block or two, but it is definitely worth it! It is set up almost like an outdoor market, with a number of unique small food vendors and a central beer garden. There are lots of tables and seating options Ll around both inside upstairs & downstairs as well as outside. I tried the B96 curry with chicken and coconut rice from Bangkok 96 street food. It was definitely one of the most unique curries I have ever had! The sauce was light, creamy and perfectly spiced. There was a very generous portion of two perfectly cooked chicken breasts on top. The rice was also perfectly cooked with a delicate coconut flavour, and it was served in a cute little takeout-style box on the side. My husband tried the jerk chicken wings and Caribbean fries from Coop Caribbean Fusion. Both had an outstanding flavour! The wings were nice and spicy, with a perfect amount of sauce; the fries were perfectly crispy with a delicious creamy and flavourful sauce on top. The portions were so generous he could not finish both dishes. To wash it all down, a large assortment of local beers are offered on tap at the beer garden for a fairly reasonable price. All in all, it was a great experience and a perfect way to try out many different local food vendors in Detroit.
Had a great time here! Nice vibe, lot of outdoor seating dog friendly ; Quick service and can choose from different cuisines/restaurants. Had fried momos with coriander chutney and fries chaat. Both were pretty tasty and great portion and quality taste for the price. Only negative is that few sketchy people around asking for handouts
Really unique place. Love the setup and style of this place and the restaurants setup in it. Tried the Thai place in there. Had the fried chicken rice bowl from it and was really amazing. Definitely a must place to try. Free parking is available at the side of the restaurant.
Great twist to a trend on over priced food courts. The building is ostensibly made up of shipping containers. The top glory had a nice coffee shop. About 6 choices of food vendors on the first floor. I liked the Caribbean food the best. The place is clean and safe. The sqft could be larger.
Cool place. First time going. Great outdoor space and upstairs space. Not to many places to eat. Bangkok 96 food was not the greatest. Also has a bar in it.. Giving it a 5 start rate only because it was cool place and had a nice vibe.
We hosted an engagement party at the DSC and it was fantastic!! The venue is really cool with great energy. We were in the beer garden with approximately 100 guests. We were fortunate with beautiful weather yet the garden was shaded before dark. There are big fun umbrellas on each table if the sun was an issue. Our event manager, Jessica, was wonderful in helping us coordinate all the details. She suggested the best choices from the food vendors and all the food was delicious! We had so many positive comments about all the food. Jessica responded quickly to all our questions and requests and helped us set up the day of the party. She made it very easy for us to host our party and enjoy our guests. Everyone loved the vibe; the background music, our private bar with great servers, the string lights and the corn hole game was a hit! It was even fun to see onlookers from the balcony. This is a great venue and cheers to the DSC crew for all their hard work.
The place is made of shipping containers and hence the name. It provides a lot food options - Nepali, American, Mediterranean, Caribbean cuisine with a couple of bar counters. We had steamed Momos - they were great to taste, I just missed the hot sauce/ schezwan sauce on side. 4 stars for it. French fries chaat was great! Tasted just like regular Indian chaat! 5 stars for that. Halal Streets - the food was ok. We had a NY style falafel bowl. 2 stars for this.
Everything that we ordered was great! Cool place to hangout. Crispy Broccoli, French Fries Chaat, Steamed and Pan Fried momos, pad Thai roll and samosa.
We stopped here on a Saturday night around dinner time. Right before a Wings game. Pretty close to LCA, so they were really busy. There are multiple restaurants to choose from and a bar. Really nice for a group if not everyone wants the same thing.
You come here mainly for the atmosphere. Food is not bad but you can get much better asian and Arabic food outside. Depends on what day, sometimes there are small performance inside the building. Unfortunately are homeless people harassing you outside of the entrance and parking lot, and the parking security is not going to do anything besides taking parking fee. Kinda funny to see people get scare away on the street but also sad at the same time.
