I just finished my 3rd design project with Andrea...a total kitchen gut and remodel...and it was a seamless and efficient as the other projects she has done for us.  From design concept through choosing all of the cabinets, counter tops, tile,  through construction  everything moved smoothly.  Andrea promised that the new kitchen would be ready for our annual family Thanksgiving dinner and it was...from demo to Thanksgiving dinner in under 4 weeks!
The result is gorgeous and so much more functional than our previous kitchen.  With this project, she has totally redesigned  our kitchen, dining room and living room into a warm open space!

We are mid-project with Andrea Houck and the experience has been amazing.  She started us out with a review of her past projects and an explanation of her process.  That set a great foundation for what to expect which was really helpful as we are new to the design experience.  Our project is a tough one, with plenty to challenge even the most experienced designer.  Our theme and goal for the project is to create a “WoW” factor in our new gathering room addition.  We are leaning so much from Andrea.  She showed us how to visually divide our space into vertical layers.  She is demonstrating how interest is created with texture and color in the design.  We are listening hard and are excited to see her create our project!

We were overwhelmed during a recent home renovation, and Andrea, of A. Houck Designs, came to our rescue.  After purchasing new furniture for our family room, we realized that we needed help in choosing the best paint colors for not only that room, but the adjoining kitchen and bath as well.  She was able to refine our choices to achieve the best results.  She also helped us choose lighting fixtures for our kitchen, dining room, and foyer, as well as recessed lighting in two of the rooms.  When a lighting fixture didn't arrive on time due to a delay in overseas production, Andrea was able to secure another lighting fixture from the company, and have it installed in time for a large dinner party.  She is currently assisting me with selecting artwork to complete our family room, and tile work for the kitchen. She has been more than willing to accommodate us and our timeline which is undoubtedly a little longer/slower than she is used to.  We highly recommend Andrea, her work ethic and reliability, and of course, her design know-how.

My wife and I just completed a project with interior designer, Andrea Houck, president of A. Houck Designs.  We were very happy with the end result of our living room, dining room, foyer, and kitchen breakfast nook.  This was the first time that we had used an interior designer and Andrea was able to easily answer all of our questions and guide us through the entire process from design concept through installation.  After initially speaking with us and finding out what we did and didn’t like, she was able to help us define our style and presented us with a number of different options for each room that we were able to refine and choose from.  She also helped us pick a unique color palette that coordinated from room to room and, importantly, easily fit with the rest of our existing home.  We ended our project on a positive note with Andrea and we would recommend A. Houck Designs to anyone.   Jason – Arlington, VA

I love Andrea's creativity and focus.  She kept our project, a rather extensive family room  redesign, on schedule and within budget.  I have worked with other designers in the past, but none made the process so seamless.  Andrea was able to capture our  lifestyle and personality in comfortable updated furnishings.  My husband and I were quite pleased with the final product and are working with Andrea again on a Master Bedroom closet redesign.
