I honestly love coming here. The doctors care for their pets and they know what they are doing. My cat has a heart murmur and they recommend a certain food for my cat and he lost 6 pounds. He no longer has a heart murmur. A very affordable vet with great prices honestly. Dr. Penoe and the other doctors and staff are just simply amazing!
I have taken my pets to Aardmore since 2002 and have trusted them implicitly with their care. All three vets have been terrific. Unfortunately, Dr. Tuckerman has left the practice and they are overwhelmed with patients now. They are not taking on anymore and you cannot get through on the phone without being placed on hold sometimes for 15-20 minutes. I have spent over 45 minutes in the past 4 days waiting to speak with someone and had to hang up and call back because I was afraid they had forgotten me. They need help at the front desk to handle the phone calls. Maybe put another line in and have two people on the desk? When you have a very sick animal and you are trying to get answers or an appointment, time is precious and it is excruciating to sit on hold while your pet suffers. They need to add a third vet to take on Dr. Tuckerman's clients or get help at the front desk to handle the calls more efficiently. It's been awhile since I had to take a pet there and it appears the whole staff has turned over in that time along with Dr. Tuckerman. They are still the best vet around and prices are reasonable but the service is starting to crack under the weight of so many clients. I still highly recommend Aardmore to anyone even if they aren't taking any new clients. They were wonderful last night as I had my kitty put down due to liver tumor.
We have been going to Aardmore for years after we were referred by a neighbor. Most recently we were there for treatment for a Sr. cat. They take time to answer questions and treat your pet and you like a valued client. Prices fair and the team open and honest about options.
Beyond thankful for this Animal Hospital. Kind, Compassionate, Understanding, Knowledgeable and Professional. My 8 year old doberman was so ill, he wouldn't eat or drink, he was throwing up bile and he didn't want to go outside. I thought for sure it was time for Euthanasia, when I brought him to the night appointment, he perked up and was curious. I thought, is he ready? I don't want him to suffer, I asked these questions to the technician who was checking him in. She responded with, "I'm sure the doctor will want to examine him first." That put my mind at ease, I wasn't alone in making any decisions. The doctor examined him, and let me know his heart and lungs sound great, he had nice pink gums. She recommended meds for his upset stomach, bland diet and bloodwork, when she got the bloodwork back if there was any issues we would go from there. I was totally satisfied with the service, care, council and pricing. I got him home, gave him his meds and he drank water after 30 mins, I offered him bland food and he ate it. We were all so happy that he was starting to feel better right away. The next morning he went outside and had a HUGE BM...I saw it was a dish towel! He passed the whole thing, poor guy. I am happy, they examined him and gave a solution. I will be forever thankful. Wonderful, knowledgeable animal hospital.
First and foremost, it's important to understand that Aardmore is NOT where I would go for emergency veterinary care. I once asked about stitches for a large cut on my dog and they recommended I go elsewhere instead. I've used them for routine veterinary care for two years now. They have been absolutely wonderful. My first dog had many ear and skin infections due to her allergies. The vets always took the time to work out a treatment plan, price out my options, and let me know what they recommended as well as warning me if an option would be pricey or unlikely to work. When my other dog had surgery, they were done quickly enough that I was able to pick him up several hours early. They have also been amazing with my dog reactive dog. They understood that we needed to wait outside prior to the appointment and often needed to be let out through a back door to avoid other dogs. They were also very understanding of any time I forgot my credit card or just needed to wait a day until payment late fees start on the first of the next month. The vets are very kind and knowledgeable-- they truly take the time to get to know animals and make them comfortable. Every tech and vet knew my dog and her likes and dislikes. They took time to greet her, feed her treats, and make her experience so enjoyable that my dogs LOVE going to the vet. When my first dog passed, each tech also took the time to offer their condolences and I received a sympathy card as well. Dr. Tuckerman has always been fantastic-- she's my favorite. She's very approachable and friendly. Additionally she knows I have a decent understanding of human medicine and never talked down to me, but met me at an appropriate level my knowledge and fed my interest in veterinary medicine.
The vets and techs are amazing. My pup has had three major surgeries here and they did an incredible job and were so caring and compassionate
I'm really impressed with how they've retooled their process for the Covid19 pandemic. As a grocery worker, I appreciate how hard it is to come up with new guidelines on the fly. They now have somebody come out to your car and pick up your pet, and they call you from inside to update you and run your card over the phone. The techs still seem just as committed as ever to keeping the pet happy, healthy and safe, and everything ran really smoothly. I only took my cat in for her scheduled vaccines this time, but after that experience I'd feel confident going in for a more involved issue, too
