Really good school full of amazing staff. The training for paraprofessionals is very on point. I really appreciated how much they cared for me when I was going through some housing difficulties after Covid. The Sped students are well taken care of here as you can tell that the paraprofessionals really care about the teaching and mentoring of the students. I highly recommend ACCEL to any parent who is looking to place their level B sometimes C Sped student in a school that will teach and care for them.
Do not whatever you do send your child to Accel unless you want your child to be made fun of bye the behavior team and most of the staff in front or behind their backs. HEPAA laws is always broken there's no dignity there's no respect there is nothing at that school. The behavior team runs the school they treat people with disabilities such as autism they make fun of behind a person's back yeah there's a lot that should be said about the school and it's deplorable. They also discriminate against those who have hidden disabilities do you not work there do not send your child there do whatever it takes to close the school.
This school is amazing!!!! I just want everyone to know how amazing the therapy department is. Every department did the evaluations on my daughter's MET. They all went above and beyond. Explaining ways to help her. Now so much more makes sense. I really feel like with this info we can really help her and maybe bring down her aggressions and overstimulation. We just want you to know how grateful we are. I was in tears throughout the meeting.
I am very disappointed with this school. My daughter did not belong in this school. The kids in that school have major mental health problems, angry issues etc. You would My daughter is hearing impaired and there are certain types of equipment that the schools are to provide for her. Well it took Accell the whole school year to purchase the system she needed.2 weeks prior to the 2022 school year ending they get them. Why it took so long when I gave them all the information to purchase them befor she started school I never got a straight answer. You would think that the staff was trained to know what type of students belong there and what type don't. With that being said my daughter ended the year with angry issues, and thoughts of suicide. After being a class with kids that deal with these types of problems on a daily it wears off on a person. And it did on my child. So I would take this off your list.
This the kind of school I have been looking for, for most of my childrens school career. Both of my children have very different special needs and accel has brought them into an environment that they BOTH are thriving in. For the first time in 7 years my son gets off the bus with a smile. My daughter is learning and making friends. There are not enough thank you's in the world to thank accel for all they have done for my children.
On of the most disappointing experiences in my entire life. Everyone violates HIPPA regulations here. The state should investigate this place for fraud because none of the students are placed with behavioral specialists appointed specifically to them. So if your child requires two people to care for them, the school will most likely only provide just one person, but bill the state for additional services. Essentially your child is forced to sit all day and very few of the staff actually care about education and life skill training. Which explains why a ton of regression is seen in so many of the students. I would suggest this company hires staff that have backgrounds in special needs. It's ghetto Fab for sure. Lots of inappropriate talk, and intimidation.
From my experience, this school is IEP based & refreshingly care mostly about their students' personal physical growth along with accommodating academic environments. I've never seen such a caring, child-oriented school that focuses on every student individually. These kids are truly loved!
On my commute this morning I saw a van driver going 60 in 40 mile zone riding cars impatient that’s dangerous for the students unacceptable I called the school and the receptionist seemed very unconcerned and didn’t seem to pay attention to my explanation of the driver speeding and driving dangerously. I have a child with disability this is one of the many reasons I don’t trust anyone nor these special needs schools very disheartening
Was very nice; took some flowers to some very special ladies. Was able to see a few people.
