Matt did a minor repair on my Selectric for free, then put on a new ribbon for $10, while reviewing typewriter history.
Matt is a National Treasure, folks! His shop is a museum for typewriter lovers. Great family business...his Dad started it in the 30s. Call first...
Matt is a very knowledgeable and wonderful guy. This is the best place to go for any typewriter needs. Ribbons are eight bucks a pop. I love the shop, full of typewriters of all sizes, shapes, and ages. This is one of my favorite places in Portland.
Best service and knowledge, a pleasure to do business with
Brought in a 1927 Underwood 4-bank portable and asked for repair. About two months later got the typewriter back looking like it was just made yesterday. And the cost to repair it was less than a 100 bucks. If you need anything typewriter related, this is the place to go.
These folks are amazing! I recently brought them a very well used Smith Corona that I wanted to get into working shape. They delivered at far less than I was expecting and now the typewriter is sitting on my desk where I use it every single day. Super reasonable pricing and the gentleman that I worked with was awesome to talk to.
Old school typewriter repairs. The owner was very helpful when I asked for a gift card for my daughter for Christmas.
