Acme Party and Tent

Will not use this company again. Chose them for their location close to our home. Salesperson was rude, told me he was sending me a contract via email and that in was to sign it and send back didn’t say when he was sending, and then he berated me for calling 30 minutes later to ask if he’d sent contract yet. Told me there were “12 other people in front of me…” before he apologized for his behavior. I had told salesperson we would be setting up tent on our pool deck and needed blocks or water canisters to secure tent we’ve done this before and he sent stakes for ground. We were then charged for an additional visit by setup crew and few for concrete blocks. They added patio heaters at our request, but didn’t send tanks of gas. Ka Ching…3rd charge. During takedown the crew tore our umbrella cover less than 1 year old and pictured above and didn’t say anything. It was pouring rain so I didn’t notice it until later in the day. All around bad experience and no one ever apologized.

This place is an event planners best friend. They have everything you want and need. Plus the prices are GREAT. They never let me down. Can't wait until my next event because all I make is one phone call to Acme Party Rentals.

Very disappointed with the service I got and their processes. I had rented 3 tables, 24 chairs, and 3 ivory color linen for the tables. At the time of pickup they forgot to give the linen - thankfully I realized before I got all the way home 15 miles away and returned back to pick them up. On the day of my event, an hour before the event time I spread the linen and realized that one of linen was white color not ivory! Very disappointing. With guests about to arrive we had no choice but to use what we got. But that was not the end of our negative experience- when I returned the items they charged me for a ‘missing’ linen because they wanted me to return 3 Ivory colored linen and I just returned what I had received. I find this just wrong. Shows they have poor processes at time of delivery, and poor customer service. Repeated requests for their owner or manager to call and discuss also fell on deaf ears. We are not impressed and very dissatisfied.

I recently rented chairs and tables for my 10 year old child’s birthday party. I have rented in the past and have also referred many to rent with Acme on S. Post Oak. When I contacted them I was told that policy changed and there is a minimum $100 requirement even though I was the one that had to pick up and return the items. Fortunately the rep was kind enough to waive it this time around which was appreciated. However, today I’m giving 1 star because of the cleanliness of the items. The tables had mud and dirt on the legs of the tables and definitely wasn’t good for my hardwood inside of my house. The chairs had sticky spots and such on them which I had to wipe down. I did attempt to contact the office about my complaint prior to writing this review but I was told no one was available to speak with so I was transferred to a general voicemail. It has now been a week and no one has called me back. I will make sure not to do business with them again! It was okay to charge me but when it comes to taking a complaint no one is ever available!!! Typical business practice I guess!

I worked with ACME recently for an event I threw for my boss. The entire experience was wonderful. Everyone at ACME was incredibly helpful and professional. They helped me figure out what we needed and walked me through the reservation and the contract process. I was a little worried because I wasn't sure exactly what time the equipment would arrive. But everyone communicated so well with each other and with me. The day of the event, everything arrived early and was set up quickly. They got the layout exactly how I wanted it. The event was a huge success and everything was flawless. A huge part of that is due to ACME's amazing crew. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

I had rented a tent, tables and chairs for a party on 2/28. Due to weather, we had to cancel at the last minute. They were INCREDIBLY nice about it. They even waived the very reasonable cancellation fee. I will definitely use them if I ever need rentals again, and would recommend them to others. Clearly customer service is a priority to this company!

Worst company ever. Never delivered the tables, etc.... we ordered. When we called them to find out when they would be there, they could not tell us the delivery time. Our contract stated they would be there by 9:00 am. It was now 10:30. We were one hour from our event starting. We cancelled at that point. They REFUSED to refund any of the money - over $500.00, because we cancelled since they never delivered. The manager Adam was very rude and told me to dispute with the credit card company because they don't refund. I asked to speak to the owner, John. I've left numerous voicemails for him and he has never bothered to call back. I guess a small order like ours doesn't matter. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. SHADY AT BEST. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER.

I rented tables, chairs and linens for a party at my house. The price was decent and they were conveniently located. I went and picked them up, and that process was pretty easy, some of the staff in the loading bays were sort of rude, but whatever; everything else about the experience was fine. If you are picking up, come early with your patience and prepared to wait a little. It's really more like 3 1/2 stars. I would probably use them again.

First of all I would like to start with an advice: STAY AWAY OF THIS COMPANY!!!!! My first impression was awesome. Could not be different after some reasonable discounts considering I was paying in cash. But here goes the truth: They don´t know how to work with people. They don´t know how to handle problems. I was in my weeding day with a lot of things pending to do and they called me with a problem in my credit card telling me if the information was not updated right away the order was going to be cancelled. It was not all... Avoid any unexpected situation, because apparently they don´t know what is "unexpected situation" and they will charge you every single penny of the "supposed" discount they gave you in the beggining. I could not be more disappointed. The delivery is in their time and who cares about having a planning day, right? HORRIBLE service and disgusting people to work with. Quality was just ok. Some tables was not really in good conditions.
