Tony founded Aeon Physical Therapy in 2008 to establish a small physical therapy clinic and specialized health/fitness facility dedicated to individualized patient care and customer service. Orthopedics, sports medicine and exercise physiology are his areas of specialization. He has treated a diverse patient population that includes pediatric and geriatric age groups, as well as high school, collegiate and professional athletes.
While completing his thesis in exercise and aging, Tony worked in the human physiology laboratory for nutrition, exercise performance and aging on studies among athletes and geriatric populations. While in doctoral training at Slippery Rock University, he worked in the exercise physiology laboratory and developed strength and conditioning programs for youth, high school and college athletes in the local area.
Tony has co- authored research studies published in medical and rehabilitation journals as well as book chapters in exercise physiology and sports physical therapy (see below). He was managing editor for the 2006 home study course, The Aging Athlete and Injury Prevention. He has presented original research findings at national APTA Combined Sections Meeting as well as the CPTA Annual Conference.
As adjunct faculty in the exercise science department at Sacred Heart University, Tony taught Human Development & Exercise. He has lectured at the University of Southern California and was adjunct faculty in anatomy/physiology at Berkeley College in New York. Tony worked at PRO Sports Physical Therapy in Scarsdale, NY and collaborated with colleagues from the Nicholas Institute for Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He was a physical therapist and clinic manager for Select Physical Therapy in CT from 2004 -2008. Tony spent 4 years as a volunteer EMT-I with Bethel (CT) Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he also served as medical director liaison for the department.
Over the past 25 years, Tony has worked in a variety of strength, conditioning and fitness capacities, including YMCA swim teams in Pennsylvania, NCAA division II collegiate track & field, nationally-ranked amateur powerlifters & bodybuilders and most high school sports.
He served on the CT Physical Therapy Association board of directors for two years and was managing editor of the APTA Sports Physical Therapy section home study course from 2006 -2008.
Tony’s personal time is spent with his wife Beth and their two children. He is very active in bodybuilding and most sports. Tony won numerous regional and national drug-free bodybuilding titles, including two national titles in the masters class.
