Reviews
Here’s a slightly long review. I leave reviews for EVERYTHING because I work for a small business and have seen the direct effects of a review. My family and I moved to Michigan at the beginning of the pandemic. We found a house on the Bloomfield/Pontiac border that was listed with AG. The beginning of the application process was a little fuzzy I would say. It took us a few days to get a response, but I continued to follow up with them. We were approved 48 hours after our response. Total application time was approximately 6 days. A few months later we had a friend move in with us and the process of adding her to the lease was pretty seamless. Fast forward two months later and we had our garbage disposal, oven, and dishwasher go out at the same time in the middle of holiday season. They had someone out there pretty promptly. Jay, our particular property manager has been very easy to get along with. I personally work best through email and he kept up the pace through emails with me and I beyond appreciate not having to pick the phone up to call someone. The only thing that stinks is they switch he’s to new systems at the END of my lease so it made love out slightly confusing. That’s just bound to happen when going from one system to another. I’ve rented in a lot of large cities throughout the United States and I truly believe that this has been one of the best experiences renting that I have had. We are now homeowners, but AG Management gave us the perfect stepping stone to becoming homeowners. I recommend AG and Jay!
I hired AG over 4 years ago to manage my rental property and have primarily worked with Jay over that time. Starting from day 1 with the initial setup, they have been responsive, professional, and dedicated to making this a successful investment property. Their knowledge and expertise of the local market has been a valuable asset since I don't live in the area. Work tickets and tenant turnover has been handled promptly with little to no effort required by me. I'm thankful I hired them 4 years ago and look forward to continuing our relationship for the foreseeable future.
Overall, AG is a great property management company as a renter! Jessica was an outstanding account manager and was very easy to work with. Anytime I had an issue with the house, she was able to get someone to resolve fairly quickly, except in the events when the homeowner had to be involved for for major issues. My only advice would be to take a detailed inventory of damages list when first moving in so that you can provide proof of any and all incidents that may have happened prior to renting. AG is very easy to communicate with and make online bill pay a breeze!
I've been with AG for many many years and they have always represented in my best interest. Landlordin' ain't easy so you need someone that you trust and that's going to expeditiously get the job done with the end in mind. Jessica has been a rock star not only doing her job but going the extra distance to ensure all avenues are explored no pun intended. I've been around the block and have worked with other companies around the country...AG continues to be excellent and it's because of their people! Thanks again
AG Management has been a breath of fresh air having moved away from my previous property manager a couple of years ago. I had a good feeling about AG from start, and while there have been some minor issues with making everything run smoothly, they have far surpassed my expectations based on how much of an improvement AG is over their competition.
If I could give zero stars, I would. There’s a TON of things we didn’t like about AG. The staff in general isn t very kind. The front desk secretary never knew the answers to my questions, but always tried to answer them with a condescending tone and often wouldn’t put me through to the right people. They changed the system that receives rent at the beginning of this year and sent out emails saying there was issues with it, it was sending out late fees for no reason, and if there were any issue, to ignore them and they’d be resolved. They said MANY tenants were complaining of the same thing. Long story short- they charged us $250+ in fees and refused to take them off. Sent a letter saying they’d kick us out if we didn’t pay them. We ended up paying just because they literally only argued and refused to do it. We have two kids and didn’t want to deal with their tactics. This was our second home with AG, and our almost 5th year. The last house we moved out, we were instructed to fix holes and do the obvious things to move out, but that they had to repaint anyway, so it wasn’t a requirement. We ended up moving out in August and they NICKLE AND DIMED us almost for the full deposit. Charged us $350 to mow the lawn. A very normal, kept looking lawn. I could professionally design a nice patio in the backyard for $350. Insane. Charged us hundreds to paint. Charged us for things that were there when we moved in. Just ridiculous things. It was $2K worth of unnecessary things. Not with the fight in court and the stress. However, DO NOT recommend AG unless you don’t like your money.
I bought my first rental home and needed some major hand holding. Katey at AG mngmt has made my experience painless which is virtually impossible in this field. I would be lost without their services and support. Highly recommend!
We just signed a new lease with AG Management. The application and leasing process were smooth and the staff Is great, we love our new home! Thank you AG Management!
If i could give this company zero stars I would. I have been arguing with Ag Management every month in regards to my ledger balance which is always wrong, every month something needs to be fixed. They have change management software 3 times and I’ve only been renting from them for little over a year, everytime they switch software its always an issue with balances on ledgers Ive spoken to two other people renting from AG and it seems to be a trend. Then they act like its your fault that the balances are not right, instead of fixing the issue before it gets to the point of someone being upset and having to call, they just assume people are dumb enough to just make payments knowing that the balances are right. They say one thing over the phone and do another after you hang up. You can call someone in the office about charges that are not supposed to be on your ledger, they agree to remove them, months later the charge is back and they act as if they never agreed to take the charge off. If i had $5000 to move I would of cut and run months ago. Avoid this company at all costs I mean ALL.
AG management has been the best management that I have ever come across! They really make sure that you are taken care of no matter the situation. Thankyou guys again for everything I have truly enjoyed my time here.
