Aikido Nippon-Kan is the premier Aikido martial arts dojo in the Rocky Mountain region. Founded by Gaku Homma, the founder's last uchideshi in Iwama, Japan, Nippon-Kan welcomes all who are interested in Aikido and humanitarian efforts.
The mission of AHAN, the Aikido Humanitarian Active Network is to extend the philosophy of Aikido into the world beyond the dojo.
One goal of AHAN (the Aikido Humanitarian Active Network) is to inspire individual dojos to find and develop service projects in their own communities. It is not required to join AHAN as a member. Individual independent ideas and activities are encouraged and supported! If your dojo has started an activity you would like to share, please let us know and we will post it on the AHAN Activity Bulletin Board.
Homma Sensei is also the author of five books about Aikido — The Structure of Aikido Volume 1, Aikido for Life, Children and the Martial Arts: An Aikido Point of View, and Aikido Sketch Diary: Dojo 365 Days — as well as a cookbook: The Folk Art of Japanese Country Cooking: A Traditional Diet for Today’s World.
