Amazing how consistent the rest of these reviews are, and I will pile on. This business is owned/operated by Abraham, who is incredibly responsive, professional, accommodating, and kind. My wife and I rented a beach umbrella and two lounge chairs on relatively short notice 12hrs heads up. Abraham delivered to our hotel and picked everything up a couple days later - super convenient and we communicated via text. All the gear was top quality / in great condition and reasonably priced. Abraham also game me some great recommendations for things to do. If I ever come back to Oahu I’ll be using his service again.
I rented a beach chair and umbrella from Abraham he was so helpful and friendly. He showed up on time to drop off the equipment to the front of our hotel. The chair and umbrella where in perfect condition. He also gave us snorkeling suggestions and quite spots on the beach to hang out. I will be back next summer and rent from him again. While there are a lot of positive reviews, unfortunately we had a disappointing experience. The first umbrella that Abraham delivered was malfunctioning. The top of the umbrella was rotating on a frequent basis and we had to hold the crank to keep the umbrella in place. Eventually, the umbrella flipped inside-out twice before we contacted Abraham. When we met him to pick up a new umbrella, he said that the problem was something he has never seen before and if the second umbrella has any issues, then we will have to cover additional costs. However, when we went to the same spot in Waikiki with the second umbrella, there were no issues whatsoever. After we returned the second umbrella to Abraham, he mentioned that he found no issues with the first umbrella. We expressed our concerns but we felt dismissed, as he quickly responded by saying that all umbrellas are checked on a regular basis by his staff. We understand that mistakes or malfunctioning equipment can happen, but based on our first experience with the first umbrella, we are certain that the umbrella was malfunctioning and wasn't checked/missed by staff.
I had the pleasure of renting from Abraham this past week August 28th-September 2nd while my husband and I were in Oahu. He is a one man show we found out and is wonderful to work with! His prices are competitive and his delivering is on point! I would highly recommend using him for any of our future trips back to Oahu! Mahalo Abraham for a wonderful selection! Angie and Brian Haven
We found this wonderful little company and used them twice during our visit to Honolulu. Abraham was very prompt and kind in dropping off and picking up beach chairs and an umbrella. All the equipment was clean and in excellent condition. Fantastic way to get beach chairs without any hassle. Terrific company. Thank you, Abraham!
Highly recommend!! We were able to book two chairs and an umbrella last minute due to a last minute cancellation by another customer. The chairs and umbrella were dropped off to our hotel lobby within 30-45 mins of booking and everything was in great condition. We had the equipment picked up 3 days later in a different hotel at a time that worked best for us. Very accommodating, kind people that run this business that want to ensure your Hawaii vacation is as stress free as possible. Really happy with Akamai Beach Essentials! Contacted Abraham early on a busy weekend in hopes Akamai might have two foldable chairs and a beach umbrella for us to rent for the day. Abraham returned our call in minutes and let us know that he had the chairs and umbrella we desired. He delivered high quality Tommy Bahama products to the doorstep of our hotel within 15 minutes and we were set for a perfect afternoon on the Waikiki beach. Return was even simpler! Abraham texted a time he would be out front to pick up the equipment…arrived right on time. Highly recommend Akamai Beach Essentials. We will be contacting them on our next visit to Oahu! Mahalo
My wife and I visited Oahu Hawaii for the first time and renting equipment from Abraham made our vacation trip better! We needed some beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler so we got in touch with Abraham who was referred to me by a friend. Abraham was very friendly and very responsive, he even suggested some places for us to go eat or visit while in Oahu. All the equipment was delivered and picked up at our hotel which made things very convenient for us. I will definitely recommend this business to anyone who’s looking for great service visiting Oahu. Would leave 10 stars if I could! Abraham was amazing with communication and just an all around nice human. I rented two chairs and a cooler for our trip. It was great to be able to rent these items for the week, rather than buy new and leave it behind I hate being wasteful. Super convenient drop-off and pick-up at your hotel.
My son and I are just finishing up our trip to Oahu. We made reservations with Abraham to rent chairs, an umbrella & cooler. All the equipment was like new. We especially liked the beach chairs, as you can wear them like a backpack to go down to the beach. They have two pockets in the back for towels & things, so you don't need to carry a bag. We will definitely rent from Abraham on our next trip to Oahu.
