Grabbed a 2 item plate - pork adobo and tripe stew. Plate came with 2 scoops of rice and a choice of Mac or tossed salad. Tripe was tender and had great flavor. The pork adobo was pretty darn good for a hawaiian spot. Would definitely grab this plate again. I do have to say this paper container law is unacceptable, especially for soup/stew/braised type food. You don't get the full affect of the dish as it soaks into the container.
Great place to try traditional Hawaiian food. They only serve in take out containers, so keep that in mind if you want a restaurant experience
If you are looking for Hawaiian style food this is the place to go in the mall…I highly recommend the beef stew it’s delicious and one order will feed 2 people, you a get a good amount of beef along with rice and a side. The flavor is on point! This is what I always order every time!Food: 5/5
The cabbage with pork is really flavorful, a bit too oily and salty, but not a deal breaker. I actually ordered a medium one of it for lunch and liked it enough to get back and order it again for dinner. The steamed pork wrapped in lotus leaves was too dry to my liking. I actually ended up enjoying the lotus leaves more An lady asked me where I got them when I was eating in the mall. I guess they must look pretty good
Just landed with my family from the mainland, and headed straight to Poi Bowl, the best, most ono food and service. Been doing this for ages. Thank you for being there for us returning locals!!! And taking a picture of us. We loved our first meal back home!!!Food: 5/5
I’m not a local so can’t judge the food very well but it definitely tasted good. For a food court vendor the taste was very good, and felt authentic. I got the Kalua Lau Lau.Food: 4/5
In the heart out the Ala Moana mall food court, you'll find a great local favorite,Poi Bowl. Authentic dishes to satisfy the thirst for local food. I indulged with the lau lau and Kalua pork lunch plate and enjoyed the tastes of the islands. The Mac salad was great for a food court!Recommended dishesKailua Pig with Cabbage
If you want to try some genuine Hawaiian dishat least for tourist please try this! Their burger steaks loco mock, pork laulau and the squid luau are terrific!
Food was tasty but they put the fries directly on your plate from the deep fryer,so a lot of grease on your plate and contaminates the burger. That's why only 3 stars
Poi Bowl offers most of the Local Grinds you find in a plate lunch spot, most of it is pretty good, especially for a mall location. Some offerings should be left off the menu, it’s just so-so and really not worth choosing. There’s plenty of tables since it is in a food court. Service is pretty good especially with the rush of customers at any given time. Typical food court atmosphere, disappointing that there’s nothing hinting of “Hawaii”. Overall it’s a decent plate lunch spot, but nothing to run back for.
