We brought an injured pine siskin to this center. We were so impressed by these young people and their enthusiasm. I highly recommend this place. It was also enjoyable seeing all the things they do for birds and habitats. Great learning experience!
Great place to visit. They are a non-profit program located in Oak Mountain State Park that take in injured birds/raptors to rehabilitate and release. If you are looking to donate items and/or money - consider donating to AWC.
Wow what a cool place! Donate supplies if you can as I'm sure it would help very much. The center was empty with no visitors so it made our visit very nice. It's free to enter although it's $5 per person to enter the state park gates. The birds were amazing to see up close.
I love this place. Always amazing, wonderful place to enjoy nature and meet some wild friends!
What a wonderful place! The birds they have rescued including hawks and a bald eagle are there for you to see and gaze in wonder at! They help our Alabama wildlife return to the wild after injury!
Wonderful rescue center for birds that is open to the public inside Oak Mountain State Park. They have awesome caring people working there, and you can see their non releasable raptors all around the center. They work hard to release all birds that come to them and do a great job of it. Go visit if you get a chance!
This place is AMAZING! I have been here a couple times, a few times to look around and one time to bring a baby bird that they took care of. The work they do here is so wonderful and so important to our wildlife. I am so thankful to every one of them. Go visit and be sure to donate to their cause!
I took an injured wild bird and they took it right in.Very cordial and knowledgeable volunteer helped
This place is amazing! You can tell how loved and well cared for all the birds are. Every one who works here was happy to show us around and answer any questions we had. It was so much fun and we learned a lot.
