The Alario Center is only minutes from downtown New Orleans and the historic French Quarter. The John A. Alario Sr. Event Center, the Alario Center Festival Grounds and Segnette Field, located in Westwego, Louisiana.

Story

Nestled adjacent to Bayou Segnette State Park, the Bayou Segnette Sports Complex is only minutes from downtown New Orleans and the historic French Quarter. The John A. Alario Sr. Event Center, the Alario Center Festival Grounds and Segnette Field, located in Westwego, Louisiana, combine to be the premier sports and entertainment complex in the Greater New Orleans area.

The Alario Center, opening its doors in the spring of 1999, designated to be a multi-purpose facility and sports center, has become the hub of social and cultural activity on the West Bank of the mighty Mississippi River. The 2,000-seat Main Arena plays host to events from basketball and boxing to consumer shows and graduations. The center is a joint venture between the State of Louisiana, Jefferson Parish, and Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District (LSED).

Segnette Field joined the Bayou Segnette Sports Complex on May 3, 2002. This outstanding venue for baseball features grandstand seating for 650 (under a cantilevered roof with unobstructed sight lines), a professional sound system, Scoreboard and AAA-quality field lights. In February 2003, Segnette Field became the new home for Loyola University Baseball, the ballpark’s first permanent home team.

Expansion! The new Hall C expansion adds an additional 19,250 square feet of exhibit space to the Alario Center. This addition will also give us the ability to have up to six basketball courts or up to ten volleyball courts and will also include a new concession stand and additional lobby space. Over the Alario Center’s 15-year history the center has served as the training facility of the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets for 10 years and has been the practice facility of the Arena Football League’s New Orleans Voodoo.

Beside numerous sports championships, the Alario Center has hosted and shot multiple movies including: “Get Hard” with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart (2014), “Big Momma’s House 2″ with Martin Lawrence (2005), ABC Family’s “Campus Confidential” (2005), and the Lifetime Movie Network’s “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal” (2008). Television productions include: The WB’s “Star Crossed” (2013), Ring of Honor’s “Supercard of Honor VIII” and three episodes of “ROH TV” (2014), “Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships” (twice in 2003 & 2012) while the Final Four was hosted at the Louisiana Superdome, the “SWAC Volleyball Championships” (2011) and even the Birdman music video for “Pop Bottles” featuring Lil Wayne (2007).

NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE ARE ALLOWED IN THE ALARIO CENTER OR SEGNETTE FIELD. Concession stands & catering are available for most events.

Any outside filming and/or photos must be accompanied by a waiver of royalties by the Alario Center, Jefferson Parish, the LSED and the State of Louisiana.

Animals are prohibited in the Alario Center & Segnette Field with the exception of service animals assisting ADA patrons.

The following items are prohibited from the complex: Guns, knives, pepper spray, mace, chains, spiked bracelets, brass knuckles, martial arts weapons, laser pointers, any other type of offensive or defensive weapons. Other prohibited items include: Air horns, electric noise makers, as well as professional cameras, audio and video recording devices (camera policy subject to change based on event). The Alario Center reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

We are committed to exceeding the expectations of every guest by delivering the best sports and entertainment experience with quality guest service and exceptional value.

With your assistance and compliance (and as a means of creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests), the BSSC is committed to providing an environment free from the following:
*Abusive or foul language and obscene gestures directed toward other guests, employees, players, coaches and officials.
*Clothing containing offensive language or indecent graphics.
*Intoxicated or drug impaired guests.
*Banners or signs that obstruct the view of guests, obscure advertising or impede the operation of the BSSC, contain objectionable subject matter or are commercial in nature. The BSSC reserves the right to remove any banner at any time.
*The Alario Center is a smoke free facility. Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire building.
*Prohibited entry items such as containers, food & beverage, airhorns, weapons and helium balloons.
