Bought an original oil painting which arrived from a gallery in Australia via tube. This was a large, gorgeous painting and I had to have the best for framing so a friend suggested Alexandria Picture Framing Co. Great company. The framing and stretching were pricey, but that is to be expected due to the size of my painting. Customer service was a pleasant experience. The owners even delivered my painting to my house as a free courtesy because my own vehicle was a bit too small to transport. Very happy with my decision. The end product turned out great! I will keep my painting for life. See pictures below! Customer Service: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Quality of work: 5/5 Project Completion Time: 5/5 Overall Experience: 5/5
This team is phenomenal. The care and attention to detail is exceptional and it shows in the final product. I have looked into services online but I wanted someone that I could talk through options with and make an informed decisions with the experts. You instantly feel that they love what they do and will take the care and extra steps to do it right. With something like the original theatrical release poster of the Empire Strikes Back I could not take it to just anyone. I was super impressed and could not recommend them enough. Special shout out to Soung Lee and Joyce Crandall!
Amazing quality. They took wonderful care of our Mort Kunstler piece and framed it perfectly. They took the time to talk us through what would be best and was even finished a day before we expected!
This small shop is a hidden gem. It’s packed inside with artwork from wall to wall, but thats what makes it so sincere and genuine in my opinion. I don’t trust a perfectly clean frame shop with my artwork, just as I don’t trust a spotless studio for my art. The prices were fairly high but the frames were absolutely stunning. I’ve been to plenty of framers where the frames in the front look decent but the back is messy. However Alexandria picture framing is the only place ive been to in the DMV area where the back of the frames are on par to the museum-quality frames. The owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodated my hours by staying an hour later in his shop, then spending an extra 30 minutes discussing what he thought was the best choice for my color schemes. Overall, i would HIGHLY recommend this shop to my fellow artists and peers looking to splurge on a sentimental piece or to gift a loved one with a high quality frame.
I LOVE my framed art. The service is excellent. The lady who helped me stayed after closing in order to find the perfect batting color and frame combo. She also stayed open so I could come pick them up. I was nervous leaving my signed original art, but she quickly put me at ease. Very knowledgeable and professional. I would bring all my special pieces to them. Really great experience.
The absolute best framing shop. They are impressively knowledgeable and careful about frame selection, and what each piece deserves. No hype, no unnecessary frills. I’ve used them well over two dozen times in 25+ years, to frame simple pictures and those needing very careful attention. They deliver excellent service at an extremely reasonable price.
My piece turned out nice but the cost was overly expensive. I was given no other option but uv glass which I didn't need and upped the cost. Also originally had matting on the piece which I asked not be used due to needing the final piece to be smaller yet even with a smaller frame and no matting I was still charged the same price. Probably won't be back
Couldn't even get in the door. Front porch too small to open the door with a stroller, and when I peeked inside it was wall-to-wall framing supplies and boxes. When I went to park my stroller in the yard, the grass was about a foot high. I called it quits there. No attention to detail, a huge expectation that people be able to navigate a narrow building. Also, no one came to the door when the doorbell chimed.
Wonderful experience! Made an sentimental frame and picture look like new despite a warped original frame. Thank you!
Needed a matt cut. Quick and easy.
