Amazing little no-frills Italian sandwich shop with tons of options. The bread and fillings are super fresh and delicious and the sandwiches themselves are pretty big - it’s certainly possible to split one with a friend. Great people working there too! I’ll definitely be back!
An insanely delicious Italian sandwich place. The ingredients are so fresh and good quality. The owners are really sweet too. There’s not much indoor seating, it’s more of a grab and go place. Love it and coming back again for sure!
Giant, perfect sandwiches! One will cover lunch and dinner. Bread is fresh, ingredients are top notch. No frills, no wasting time, know what you want to order when you get to the counter because the guy making sandwiches is not there to chat. I’m any case, you can’t go wrong, it’s all good. Also, an assortment of oils I oils and other canned and bottled Italian products, which make great gifts. Only one small table inside. They take cash and cars, but no Apple Pay.
Small sandwich shop that really just shines on the quality of their meats, cheeses & breads. Very modest establishment. Maybe seating for 4-6 at a small round cafe table inside and then 4 bar seats against the window not open air; just facing the glass. Also keep in mind, sometimes, they'll run out of some breads so they'll tape a sign to the door. It's a very simple & no-frills experience that really magnifies the top notch sandwiches. All their breads have the crispy exterior of a fresh baked loaf. Personally, I'm a fan of the semolina swapping bread is an extra charge. The meats are sliced to order so not slowly drying a slow death behind a counter. Also - the olive paste and the hot pepper spread are excellent - add them to any sandwich, especially the Matthew or the Pinocchio also extra charge.
Terrific Italian sandwiches. If you go early enough, they have multiple bread options, each of which is good in its own right, but some of which are more conducive to certain sandwiches. The menu is long a little intimidatingly so, but they will also make one from any combination of their ingredients. In the summer, there are a couple small tables out front; in the winter, it’ll have to be to-go. Either way, it’s worth going.
Phenomenal grab-and-go unless you're lucky to get one of the few seats Italian sandwiches made in front of you with super fresh, high quality ingredients sourced from the best local vendors or Italy. The Pinocchio prosciutto, sopressata, fresh mozzarella, sweet roasted peppers, and olive paste is heavenly and my favorite sandwich in New York, but you can't go wrong with anything here.
Got the Mona Lisa. Probably the saddest Italian sandwich I’ve ever had. Small amount of eggplant. No flavor. High prices. Not coming back.
Big filling sandwiches. The food and decor are both very authentic and comforting. The four options for bread beyond the two standard choices are great.
One sandwich is big enough for two to share. Good bread, good selections, ordered the Sofia. Prices range from $12 to $17 tax included. Charming sandwich place on charming Sullivan Street.
I love a good sandwich and discovered Alidoro from Ground Central Cafe on 2nd Ave. I’ve had the tuna and chicken provolone respectively, And both were top notch!!
