Alta View Animal Hospital

Our dog got spayed here. The surgery went fine, but when we went in for the check up 2 weeks later, they wouldn't let us go with our dog to see the vet. We never got to ask any questions to them either. They took her for no more than 2 minutes and came back saying everything was fine even though she has a hole that keeps bleeding and won't heal. Really got the sense that we got rushed away and that they didn't care at all. Not coming back and I don't recommend others to either.

Excellent experience. Front office staff of excellent. Plentiful, efficient, kind, empathetic. Both doctors and the surgeon were extremely experienced, calm and good listeners. I have zero complaints. They are an independent hospital and prices were reasonable for a complicated case.

My bunnies looked healthy and that's what matters most. They're always grumpy when they first get back home, but that's normal. Too bad they lost the cap on the medication though. It's tiny but now we can't keep the med relatively sanitized.

So bad!!!! I had my dog with a friend last Thursday when I need to go to office. My friend messaged me that my dog was coughing and splitting up white foam in the morning so I asked him to send my dog here for a checkup. They basically take whatever potential issue I myself identified without giving any second thought to rule out any possibility. They also tried to worry me by saying my dog is in pian, she needs immediate health care, vet herself is very concerned, and her temperature is really high... I was super super worried and feels like I'm losing her. And then they proposed the following treatment: fluid therapy, blood test, radiology, ultrasound, antibiotics... Anything you could imagine. I have always not trusted them, just being lazy and not switched. This time, I'm not feeling good and asked to transfer. I left my work immediately and went to pick her up and send to Sage redwood city. Turns out she is all fine, may be kennel cough and I haven't heard her cough for once after I get her, and her temperature is also normal. She was later discharged with me to monitor if she cough. No other treatment or prescription. It's been 4 days now. She is just normal. This hospital is really just for Money. Shame on you! Don't pretend that you care about my dog. You don't!

We used this vet for years, but I will never forgive myself or this office for my dog’s last days. I strongly feel that this office gave me false hope regarding my dog’s chances of coming home. She was 13 with a chronic disease, and we took her here one day when her symptoms got worse. They kept her overnight and said she would likely go home the next day. And, then they told us that for four more nights. We came into the office on the fifth day to visit our dog, and one of the vet techs was compassionate enough to tell us that it was time to make a hard decision. The vet we saw that day was callous and rude. Rather than having our dog at home with us, her last five days were spent away from her family in this office. I can’t help but feel that they just wanted to run one last bill. I will never recommend this office to anyone.

Luca was almost dying due to bloody diarrheas' and vomiting. They diagnosed the emergency immediately and hospitalized him. They could fix him properly and on-time. I recommend them 100%.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS AND FAMILY TO ALTA VIEW! Read the reviews here and elsewhere. This animal hospital seems to be run by misbehaved, nasty, and disrespectful children. Adult supervision is needed ASAP! I am not returning and recommend that you take your pets and business elsewhere and save your family from the embarrassment of hearing men arguing as if they were at a bar. Maybe it is an age thing, and I am finally getting too old to hear these things flung around without regard to who is listening, but I just do not like hearing employees arguing in front of me, especially if they are going to curse and yell obscenities at each other. I spent a couple of weeks home-sitting for my daughter in Portola and had to bring my dog to have her eye checked. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews for Alta View Animal Hospital before calling and brought her in because it was close, and boy was that a HUGE MISTAKE! On the phone, they made me believe that if I brought her, she would be seen immediately because they had time in the schedule. THAT WAS NOT TRUE! While I was waiting in the lobby to get Genie checked in, the employees had a mean argument in the back rooms yelling obscenities at each other as if they were on the streets! I was not part of the argument, but I definitely felt horribly embarrassed. Even the girl at the front desk was embarrassed, and you could tell on her face that she was not comfortable, but there was nothing she could do. One of the men arguing turned out to be in charge of the place; go figure.

possibly the worst experience i have ever had at a veterinary clinic. great place to waste time waiting for unnecessary treatments to be done to your pets. better yet, they'll make sure you get EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE perscriptions for things you never noticed were wrong with your animal. went to neuter my puppy. drove away with eardrops for "allergies" he doesn't even have. utterly ridiculous. they said he would absolutely be ready by 3 pm. I told them I would be there at 5:30, i did not get my dog back until almost an hour later. photo related. this is my dog, they said he had allergies on his ears and that they were "red and irritated" on the outer edges. where?
