Dr Mary Alvarado spent time with me and discussed the importance of putting one ingredient foods in my body. I had been stuck in a bad nutrition rut for a few years. After my phenomenal adjustment I went straight to Whole Foods and restructured my pantry. Within 3 weeks I had lost 5 lbs . I’ve eliminated refined sugar from my diet and I feel like a new woman. Dr. Alvarado truly cares about the health of her patients. I’m very grateful I found Alternative Family Medicine! Everyone there makes you feel welcome and important.

Dr. Anne Marie- Barter is a lifesaver and so knowledgeable. She has helped me so much. She isn't "just a chiropractor" but is a kind- hearted and excellent holistic doctor that treats every patient individually and takes time to listen. She will look at your labwork and a thorough questionnaire & go over it with you to determine an individualized healthcare plan for you. She is treating my low blood sugar for instance with a supplement. Here are some of the treatments she has used with me: gentle chiropractic care, cupping, needling like acupuncture. I was in so much pain before I came to her that it hurt to just lie down. I have come a long way under her care. I cannot recommend her enough.

I have had back problems most of my adult life. I have tried all kinds of back care from traditional to alternative. You can’t teach kindness and compassion in Chiropractic school and in my opinion this is what differentiates a good technician from a healer. Needless to say, I believe Dr. Barter to be a true healer. She uses a combination of gentle manipulation, pharmaceutical level supplements and varied modalities. She is incredibly intuitive and her kinesiology results are spot on! I am very grateful for her presence in my life and her assistance on my road to recovery.

I started seeing Dr. Ann Barter several months ago for neck and lower back pain. I also had a lump in my neck that had been there for several years. After seeing an ENT doctor, the Radiologist, a Cytologist, and having it biopsied, nobody could tell me what it was. I was extremely frustrated and had spent so much time and money trying to figure out what was going on. My first visit with Dr. Ann she immediately was able to tell me what it was and started treatments. Now the lump is pretty much gone and I can move my neck again! As a dental hygienist, my posture is not the greatest and I am constantly hunched over and experience neck and back pain. After one adjustment I was out of pain. I've been to other chiropractors before and have been relatively happy with them, but she exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond! I've never had such a thorough appt before. She really took the time to listen to my concerns and not only treated my chiropractic needs but also helped me with my diet and nutrition. I am a sugarholic and a fast food junkie. She gave me some supplements anti-sugar pills that stopped my sugar cravings. I also had bursitis in my hip pretty bad and Dr. Ann was able to help alleviate the pain with adjustments, supplements, stretches and exercises. She is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about your overall health! Dr. Barter is awesome! She is like a chiropractor, naturopath, and rolfer. She is amazing. One stop shopping for all of your discomfort and pain. My neck felt looser than it has ever and I have been doing regular chiropractic care my entire life.

Jen had a unique ability to actually listen to what my body was telling her. This allowed her focus on my problem areas, whether it was joint or soft tissue related. Dr. Mary Alvarado is INCREDIBLE and I highly recommend her. I have been suffering with 2 chronic illnesses and the side-effects from prescriptions for years and I am almost off the last prescription because of her. She is very attentive and will give the all the details about what you are taking and how its working in your body. My faith has been restored in alternative medicine thanks to her!
