Matt has super powers! We met Matt at our friend's wedding in September of 2017. We went to a total of 7 weddings that year, and Matt was the only photographer who stood out. He wasn't just taking pictures in the background, he matched the vibe of the entire evening. When those pictures came out - I looked at those pictures over and over and over and over again. When it came to hire a photographer for my own wedding in 2018 - Matt was available on our date spring of 2019 and we signed the paperwork immediately. Matt took us to lunch to get to know us better - we didn't want an engagement shoot, just a no frills affair with tons of family/action shots. He did exactly that. Pictures are worth a 1000 words, but Matt's pictures are worth a million. So instead of more words, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Matt Altmix with Altmix Photography recently shot our wedding in November and I cannot say enough good things about him and our experience. The quality of his pictures is unreal. Every shot was clear and in focus and the lighting and colors all came through so beautifully. Matt is very creative. You are not going to get any boring wedding pictures with him that’s for sure. He is not one for any stiff awkward poses, but more so capturing whatever happens with you being yourself. We had the windiest wedding day and a lot of the great shots were in the moment of the wind taking over. Others were as we were walking to the next location and Matt noticed the lighting through the lens, told us all to stop and the bridesmaids to crouch behind me and hold my veil from being blown away, and it turned out amazing. He knows lighting and the elements so well and how to work around them to get that perfect shot. He climbs onto random objects or runs into tall grass just to get the angle he wants. He adds his own twist to traditional photography and the result is artistic, moody, raw emotion. Another thing that made him a great photographer was just Matt himself. He is such an awesome guy - very calm and chill, upbeat, easy to be around, and also absolutely hilarious. He was such a joy to have around on our wedding day. He kept the mood light and fun, was very quick at getting the shots, and made smiling for the camera very easy. After looking at our pictures, everyone kept saying “I don’t even remember seeing him during the ceremony”. THAT is what you want for your wedding. Someone who is so good at what he does that he can go unseen during the ceremony yet be able to flawlessly capture it all. He is also so fun to have during the reception as well. He doesn't just stand in a corner and take pictures. He is taking it all in dancing with the music, laughing with everyone, and brought so much energy. He uses a cool shutter drag technique for some of the dancing shots that made those pictures look like the most epic reception there ever was. Lastly, he goes above and beyond for his clients and is happy to do so. He had our pictures ready for us in a matter of weeks, and even dug through them to find some family pictures to edit for us early as a Christmas gift for our parents. He is an awesome guy who takes incredible pictures and I highly, highly recommend him for any of your photography needs.

We were lucky enough to have Matt shoot our engagement photos last week. The final product he delivered is so much more than just a collection of photos - it’s ART. Looking through the photos which I’ve been doing a lot, they truly capture our love for one another, our personalities, and the fun we have when we’re together. He is so incredibly talented. On top of that, he’s an awesome person and fun to be around. This was our first time having professional photos taken, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but Matt made us feel at ease and gave great direction. We so appreciated the thought and creativity he put into every single shot he delivered. He’ll also be shooting our wedding in May 2018, and we could not be more excited! I know I’ll be updating this review with more awesome things after the wedding.

Matt is the photographer you want capturing all the moments at your event or special day. Matt’s work speaks louder than words. His flexibility, patience, politeness, professionalism and friendly personality is the type of vendor I want on my “A” team. His photojournalistic approach to capturing events is amazing! Not only that, but his versatility with portrait shots and creativity as well. He has wonderful ideas and works with the client to make the vision happen. Matt deserves more than five stars! I will definitely be using him for future photography needs.

Even though there are tons of talented wedding photographers out there, Matt is hands down the best of them all. While trying to narrow down our choices, we ALWAYS kept coming back to Matt’s portfolio! Every image he creates and captures is truly breathtaking and awe inspiring with the way he’s able to incorporate and play with light, angles and shadows. When Matt sent us back our wedding pictures, I had tears in my eyes as we looked back on our day through the pictures. He was able to capture so much emotion, love and joy and each photo. He never skipped a beat at our wedding and maneuvered his way around the ceremony and reception like he was never there but was able to capture each candid moment he could. Not only is Matt incredible at what he does and the best at his craft, he is an amazing person and an absolute pleasure to work with. I couldn’t have imaged anyone else by our sides at our wedding except for Matt! It was truly our honor to work with him!

Matt is the absolute best and exceeded all of our expectations! His photos captured the day perfectly- both the small moments as well as the big moments. The photos he took are beautiful, it's difficult to pick favorites! Matt was so easy and fun to work with- it felt like we had a long time friend showing up to photograph the wedding, not just a random photographer. We looked all over for a photographer that both my husband and I liked, and we were SO happy we chose Matt! I wish I could give him more than 5 stars :

Matt was amazing to work with! My husband and I hired him for engagement photos and wedding photos. We couldn't be happier with the way all of the photos turned out. Altmix Photography stands out to us among all of the other wedding photographers in our area simply because of the simplicity and creativity evident in all of his photos. Often I feel like wedding/engagement photos end up looking the same, but I find all of Matt's photos to be unique and beautiful. We ran into an issue a few months before our wedding where Matt was unable to shoot our wedding since his wife was due that same weekend. Obviously this really freaked me out at first, but Matt worked quickly with us to hire another photographer through Altmix Photography. The photographer he sent to our wedding was just as great as Matt! Not only were her photos amazing, but she was a lot of fun to be around and she was so great at interacting with the wedding party and all of our guests. Matt edited the photos and had them to us in less than a month! We love each and every one of our photos and we love the experience we had with Altmix Photography. I would highly recommend Altmix to any couple looking to work with great people and looking to end up with creative and beautiful shots!

Matt is an excellent photographer. My wife and I hired him as our wedding photographer and our photos came out amazing! He's great to work with as he recommends locations we never imagined during engagement sessions and first look photos. We can't thank Matt enough for capturing our special moments and making us feel comfortable throughout the engagement session and wedding photo session. Matt was our wedding photographer, recommended to us by our planner. Matt is a very personable, friendly guy who will not only capture all the big, important moments of your day, but also they fun and sweet "in between" moments in his photos. Matt was exactly what we were looking for in a photographer, closely shadowing us and capturing the wedding, without us even knowing he was there! If we wanted him to snap a quick photo at the reception, I just had to look over a shoulder, and he was right there, ready!
