Story

Altru Health System is a community-owned, integrated system with an acute care hospital, a specialty hospital, more than a dozen clinics in Grand Forks and the region, and a large home care network. It employs nearly 200 physicians and 4,000 staff. As the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, Altru’s providers have access to clinically integrated tools extending Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise to patients.

We will address questions and concerns posted with replies during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We are unable to comment on patient information. If you have an emergency health concern, please call 911. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, we urge you to please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

Went in in EXTREME PAIN after a surgery a week prior. I spent nearly 2 hours in the waiting room holding back tears and trying not to vomit from the pain. Was finally taken back where I spent another 2+ hours waiting and all that was done in that time was waiting on a urine test. Finally an xray was done around hr 5 and another 1.5 hr wait for results . I was left sitting literally crying in pain in this room with a possibly migrated uriter stent with nearly no attempt at pain control and no fluids in the total 7 hrs I was there except 1/3 full cup of water given to take bladder numbing med which I had already told them I was taking and getting no relief. I was pretty much told I was being sent home and "good luck" I will NEVER EVER return to this ER even if I'm dieing I'll die on my way to find another ER.

Will b filing a complaint against the nurse we had today...very unprofessional! Don't think u allow to go on what she did today! Go to this place if u wanna b sexually harrassed.. fiance was in there for possible heart attack/blood clot and the nurse had the nerve to start flirting and then takin it further by making rude inappropriate comments telling him to keep his gown off to show his body even goin to the extreme in making the Mmmm noises after her comment! Totally disappointed and she should b let go!

I understand that they are busy accepting patients. The only I don't understand is helping patients came before me since I have been there for hours.

Absolutely horrible. I sat here in severe pain for almost 4 hours. While I watched junkies, drunks, coughs and sore throats admitted before me even though they arrived an hour after I did. I'm absolutely disgusted by this hospital I'd have to literally be dragged out of my dead bed to ever return. Even then I most certainly experience a 4 hour wait!!!!!
