Extremely unprofessional and horrible treatment of employees. Had a very nice driver last night who was "punished" by the radio service he pays $80 weekly for. I heard a conversation between him and the radio service. They yelled at him for not picking up a fare that he waited 20 minutes for and never showed. To spite him, they turned off his radio service and credit card machine. Both the cab driver and myself called the radio service to turn the credit card machine on at the end of my ride because that's all I had to pay with. The radio service employee told me himself that he turned it off because the cab driver didn't pick up his last fare. I asked him to turn it on for my ride, and he told me to "just walk away from him, don't pay." After some more conversation, he happily put us both on hold and ignored our calls, thereby screwing over my driver's whole night and source of livelihood. My cab driver offered to just let me go without paying because he felt bad for the trouble. I refused to do that and we drove to an ATM. I am appalled at the utter lack of respect for the employee, and utter childishness and unprofessionalism of this employee whom I hope is fired for this disgusting behavior. He is merely a service, not a boss to these cab drivers.
I am not really sure if I should write this, since technically I was not one of their customs. The story is that I need a ride to a train station on Sunday morning before 6, if I missed the train, I will miss the next transportation and miss another one and so on, so my vacation will be ruined. Two days before that, I booked on their website, then they called me to confirm. I know it is a short distance ride and the time is too early, so I called them again to confirm on Sat. Then on Sunday morning, guess what? Correct! Nobody came! Called them and they said no driver is available. That is it! Why didn't they call me before this? That's why I was not their custom and may not be one in the future.
Will never take Cambridge's Ambassador Brattle Cab again. Pre-booked them yesterday for a ride to airport. Doesn't show up. Upon calling I find out my cab took someone else from my location, and they never informed me. They tell me to wait 5-10 minutes for another. Obviously I immediately call an Uber who shows up 2 min. later. When they next call me, the minute I get the word Uber out of my mouth, they actually hang up on me!
Scam cabbie. This cab company are crooks. Driver forced me to pay "included" listed on the window tolls as extra and we never even took a toll road to the airport, he wanted $5 for his toll home, and Sumner tunnel doesn't even cost $5, total scam, horrible I felt like I was being abused from a third world country taxi. Disgusting and I had already given him a $4 tip and he wanted the extra money. What can you do when you a flight to catch though. Use any other cab company, this place should be shut down for it's sketchy practices.
I used this company for years and never had an issue. On Friday, I ordered a cab at 2:15 and was told it would arrive in ten minutes. After twenty minutes I called and was told the cab was held up in traffic. Ten minutes later I called and was told the cab was nearby. Ten minutes later, still no cab. I finally got picked up fifty minutes after I called. The driver told me he came from Boston to Cambridge to pick me up. He was originally called to pick me up, but the dispatcher rerouted him. The driver asked the dispatcher to get another cab for me. He failed to do so. This is terrible service, with somebody lying. I will never use this cab company again.
Would give a zero star if I can. The trip fair was 7.8 Dollars but I was informed only at destination that the company takes credit card with amount over 10 dollars. The driver screamed at me to pay for 10 dollars using my credit card, which is >20% tip. Since I do not have any cash with me, I agreed to charge my card for 10 dollars, only to find out the driver charged 110 dollars. Fortunately I was able to recover the charge by calling the credit card company. Will warn anyone who is going to take taxi with this specific company.
My friends and I call this cab company every time we want to get to Downtown Boston or get home from Downtown Boston. We have had a couple different drivers and some of the same drivers and every time they are accommodating. They call us ahead of time to let us know when they are out front and double check to see if it is our group that called the cabs so other people can't take our car late at night! No complaints here!
What a joke! This cab company sucks. The check engine light was on the entire time during our ride. The cab could not drive above 40 mph on the highway and shook our entire trip. When I called to complain, the person on the other end who would not tell me his name... "dispatch" hung up on me 3 times. I highly recommend NOTusing this cab company. Please do yourself a favor and choose someone else.
If I could give a lower rate and call the cops I would. I took a cab from harv sq this afternoon June 4, 2015, at 12:15, Cab no: 314C....the cab driver was rude and ate with a fork from a plate on the passenger's seat while driving so not watching the road.....when I tried to give him directions, he got angry, yelled and cursed, and I smelled booze on him. No wonder all the positive reviews are by late night drunks.
I used Ambassador Brattle last weekend after heading home from a bar with my friend. I always like to try and make small talk with the driver, and this guy actually appreciated it! He was an awesome guy and very friendly and chatted with us the whole way back to Medford. My friend left his phone in the car when we got out and the driver pulled over and ran over to give it back- good deeds like that are hard to come by nowadays. Definitely hail one of their cabs should you spot one and need a ride.
