Should have read the reviews before arriving. This place has gone to the pits ever since AMC took over. I tried to file a complaint through their form online and only received an auto reply email with no actual follow up. AMC, thanks for not listening to your customers. Besides the seats being worn and impossible to clean, we noticed a few of the seats were broken as well. All the theaters in Vancouver are getting gross but this one wins Vancouver’s grossest theater award. We’d give it 0 stars if possible. Quitting the theaters after this, yuck!
Haven't been to a movie in a minute. By far one of the better movie experiences I've ever had. Drinks, condiments were self serve. Tickets and treats were of course expensive but not an arm and a leg expensive. Definitely will be going back again. Want to explore their movie club promotion. Pay a monthly fee and watch movies at no charge. Theater was clean and staff was efficient. 10/10 experience!
Only reason I didn’t do one star was because the staff was really nice. 1. The bar was closed. 2. Purchased a small popcorn $10 it was very cold and burnt. I didn’t want to complain so I asked to have it heated up. Nope. The popcorn warmer was broken. They were kind and offered a refund. I got nachos instead. The seats were extremely uncomfortable, didn’t recline, very lumpy and old. My drink holder was broken on my chair so half my slushy was wasted. Won’t be watching any movies there again
First time here and definitely won’t be my last. It was a nice smaller theater. Had the normal AMC food to offer. I do wish prices were cheaper for food and drinks. The seats were comfortable but they didn’t recline back as far as other AMC theaters. Wasn’t the most up to date theater but had that older movie theater vibe going on. Also on a Monday there was no one there so you pretty much get the rooms to yourself. Enjoy!
Anyone who’s written a rating less than 5 stars is lying or didn’t have Kaleb help them, because this guy is the man! Also this theater was great, had a great viewing experience. Also shoutout to Kaleb. Everyone needs a Kaleb
The seats are the only reason for the 2 star rating. Dirty, stained and torn is one thing, but these seats were the very old red kind that don't recline, just squeak when rocked back. They are also very uncomfortable and pain inducing, with no table for snacks. Everything else about this theater was totally fine, but seat comfort is extremely important.
The theatre itself was beautiful, and the staff was great, but the chairs left me unimpressed. For the price paid for the movie and snacks, it was appalling how bad they were. The cup holder was missing on one seat, I'm glad i didn't let go of my cup. And the seats were not fixed in position. They either slammed back or slammed forward or rocked side to side. The upholstery was so worn that the white under fabric was showing as seen in the picture below. The cup holder/arm rests in the middle were completely broken. Other than this, the theatre was very clean and we somewhat enjoyed the experience.
Lots of parking as no one was there. Check in was at the concession stand, theater was clean but we were disappointed to see that the seats were standard, not the fancy electric recliners. Although squeaky, they were still comfortable and allowed us to lean back. Staff was friendly and we got 25% off for matinee which seems to run until 4pm.
One word fits well here, and that is ‘disgusting.’ This theater needs a serious upgrade, as the seats are well beyond worn, and some are not even bolted down. I happened to have a seat that was not fastened to the ground, so every time I got up, I had to hold it to keep it from falling over. I had to reach behind the chair to pick up a dropped bottle and ended up leaving it on the ground, as it had years of dirt and sticky mess all over it. It’s one thing to have worn, uncomfortable chairs, but it’s on another level entirely when the employees refuse to clean the theater, so you have to shower when you get home. It’s so sad that your first thought upon leaving this theater is not about the movie itself, but whether or not you need to get a tetanus shot. Clearly, this theater does not have a reasonable budget in place to maintain a safe, clean environment. However, a simple mop bucket and cleaner would at least get rid of the sticky mess and stench that slaps you in the face as soon as you arrive. I believe it’s safe to assume this theater won’t be around much longer, which is a shame, as the location is ideal. This could be a great theater if they invested some time and money, but no amount of money will change the fact that the majority of the current employees have no pride in what they do.
The theater was like a ghost town, and for a Friday night that was very shocking. There were only 6 of us in the theater seeing a movie that hadn't even been out for 2 weeks. The seats are worn and tired, and the foot stools are gone that used to be in the living room style rooms. Oh how I miss the days when it was Cinetopia.
