Beautiful theater. I saw 1776 here. Amazing show!! The seats were very comfortable with thick padding. Even though I was side orchestra, it was a great view of the entire stage. I walked the whole theater and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house - unless you sit in the boxes. Not recommended for that. The penthouse lounge had friendly staff, but no view like the website says. Still very warm and welcoming. Staff was friendly.
Theatre is suitably located and accessible via subway like everything else in the city. Entry/exit was quick and seamless. Theatre is not that big - so not too much queues. We went there to see Debra Messing’s Birthday Candles and had Orchestra tickets. Had a unobstructed view of the stage and acoustics were optimal. American Airlines theatre is one of those coz ones on the broadway that has old design and holds plays that are not too much touristy Aladdin etc. So you can enjoy a light play with a smaller crowd.
A nice theatre! Great view of the show from the lower mezzanine! We especially liked the 5th floor lounge before the show that had reasonably priced snacks and moreso expensive drinks. Great location of course as well. It also had a balcony in the lounge that overlooks a building with a light show. Really worth a stop for a seat and a snack before the house opens. TOP TIP: Use Todaytix for cheap tickets. We got very affordable tickets that were really the reason we decided to go through their rush feature. This isn't just a tip for this theatre, but for all broadway shows. Not paid by them haha, just trying to save you money.
My first time at the American Airlines Theater, and it was a pleasant experience. Went to see "Trouble in Mind" which was excellent by the way! Lots of seating options no bad seats here, and I got upgraded a couple of rows just before curtain call. The acoustics allow for clear and crisp vocal sounds. This theater is well kept.
Saw 1776 here. Wonderful production and I loved the additions to the show. Very powerful. Great job by the cast and crew!!!!
It’s a small and quaint theatre, there’s no bad seat in the house! We saw Birthday Candles with Debra Messing and it was excellent - highly recommend!
Nice theatre. Seats are wider than most. Back row of mezzanine is still a good seat.
Seats were a bit roomier than some other theaters. The sight lines and acoustics were excellent. The play was amazing, a slightly different take on the original but well worth seeing. I highly recommend it.
Saw 1776 here. A beautiful theater without too much space and a thousand staircases such as others. My partner and I are not small people, and when we sat down, we both remarked that they had seats designed for a variety of body sizes, which I must say was surely lacking in the theater in which we saw Hadestown a few months ago. To quote them, "Seats for actual people!" And they were quite plush too! Merch was a heavy price tag, but what else is new. Definitely a good place to see a show.
Attended 1776 performance. Very good. Theater is lovely. Clean and accommodating. Seating views Very Good. Staff attentive. Recommend cocktails upstairs before the show.
