American Kenpo Karate School

I signed my 5 kids up at American Kenpo Karate and am so pleased with it! The instructor, a sixth degree black belt, David Coppock, is an absolutely amazing instructor and great with the kids. I can't imagine there is a more qualified instructor in Colorado Springs. All of my kids were reluctant to try Karate and all of them were sold after the first lesson. They get in their exercise, learn discipline and self-defense, and are making new friends. In addition to learning how to defend one's self in real-life situations, Mr. Coppock encourages his students to make good grades, obey their parents, and make healthy choices at the end of every class. This is proving to be an excellent investment in my children. And it's very affordable for my big family! We are extremely happy here and expect to be here for a very long time.

Mr. Coppock's school has been a fantastic learning environment for my child. Over the last five years this has been so much more than just learning kenpo as it has added discipline to all areas of my son's life. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff are wonderful. Would recommend to all adults and children.

My 6 yr old daughter comes here I love this place everyone here really helpfull yet nice people. And the best part that they take time with every single kid.

I started training at AKKS when I was 34 years old. That was back in 2008. I was new to karate and never really knew what I was getting myself into. I lacked self confidence when I started which has now changed drastically for the better. Not just self confidence to be able to protect myself and my family but self confidence with everything that I do in life (family, friends and work). This past weekend, I received my 1st Degree Black Belt (a dream of mine since I was a child). It was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life. If you are looking to train at a karate school to give you the best in training physically and mentally then this is the place to go. This is not a place to take lightly, it is hard and demanding but will certainly change your life for the better.

My sister enjoys coming to classes even though she is impossible.. The kids here are welcoming and made her feelnpart of the family from day one. The instruction is both comical and tough and really really fun. We all really enjoy coming!
