About

Anchorage Music & Dance Center is a unique school offering quality private & group music and dance classes at one convenient location.

Story

Parents only have to drive to one location for their entire family's music lessons & dance classes. What a time saver for mom and dad!

We offer private music lessons for guitar, piano, drums, voice, violin, cello, viola & bass. We have a preschool music program that teaches children ages 18mos–7 yrs to read music!

Interested in group music classes? We have those too! Kindergarten Keyboard; Group Guitar Classes & Rock Star Rock Band Classes.

Our dance classes expose youngsters to dance in a positive atmosphere—especially our Angelina Ballerina Ballet Classes & Preschool Dance Classes for 3-5yrs. Dance classes for kindergarten students ages 5-6yrs and students ages 6yrs and up include ballet, dance fusion, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, tap & more.

Our ballet classes for Kindergarten Ballet ages 5-6, and Ballet for 6yrs and older follow the American Ballet Theatre Curriculum and are taught by an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher.

Our dance classes for the school year run from August– May. Enrollment is open April 15th thru November 30th. Because performing is a great way to build confidence and so much fun, these classes perform in our Spring Recital in May at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium at UAA.

We also offer "January Start" dance classes. Enrollment for these classes is open from December 1st- January 30th. These classes are non-recital classes.

Mission

Music: We believe learning to play an instrument promotes self-expression & builds self-confidence. Our music program is designed to insure a positive experience for every student. Our teachers identify how to teach each, individual student to insure they are learning in the way best suited to them.

Because we understand some children learn better in a group setting, we also offer group guitar, piano & band classes. We show students how to have fun with music while learning important skills and theory.

Dance: Our goal is to offer a variety of dance classes to students from preschool age through adult. We believe it is important for students to become involved in fun, physical activities and to learn the proper posture and techniques required for various types of dance.
