Lee County's Largest in door flea market and antique mall.
Angel’s Antiques began in an old closed down Wal-Mart building with a hope and a dream. The hope was for success, the dream was a business that could be a vehicle for a father and son to work together along with a wife and a baby named Angel.
The obstacle? Nobody had any money. The son, Bill, wife Connie and baby Angel were on food stamps as Angel had just had major heart surgery. Connie had a minimum wage job with insurance and Bill was cleaning toilets and having yard sales to pay the power bills. Leo, Bill’s father was on social security “drawing his pennies” when they decided to follow Bill’s plan to open an antique mall in the Opelika/Auburn area unlike anything on that side of the world.
Why the Opelika/Auburn area? Because there was a HUGE old building there, just one block off I-85 between Atlanta, GA and Montgomery, Alabama in the 19th fastest growing metropolitan area in the country! In August of 2002, the doors to a dream opened and an old “big box” skeleton of a building became one of the biggest antique malls in the South.
At over 68,000 sq. ft., Angels has over 400 vendors and attracts thousands of customers from around the globe. “Lucky” magazine rated Angels as one of the Top 3 Best antique malls in the South and newspaper readers have voted Angels as the area’s best antique mall in Alabama and Georgia!
