I got to tag along to meet this special dog that my parents adopted. The staff is wonderful. Very kind, and their hearts are so amazing. You can tell how much they love and care about the animals. They don’t get enough recognition. We appreciate them immensely and love our new family member!

Was impressed with a clean facility, inside and out. Employees were very welcoming and took time to show us several sweet dogs. Although we didn't find our next pet there, I would certainly go there again.

They treat the animals very well and the facility is great. Yesterday we went to look at a dog and found one our kids really gravitated towards. They wouldn't let us adopt her because we had another dog and they wanted us to bring our dog down to make sure they would get along. They told us not to worry because they'd keep her for us and wouldn't let anybody adopt her until we had made a decision. So today we drove all the way back down there with our dog to meet her and they told us they had somebody signing the adoption paperwork right then and there. So now we have to go home and break our kids' hearts this close to Christmas. They really do take great care of the animals, but this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. I probably won't adopt from them and I'll caution others about doing so. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Sorry we couldn't take you home like was promised Jasmine.

There cwas incident that happened because of a dog. I'm sorry I don't tolerate stupid it should have been picked up. It growled at my family member and now because of the dog she's got a fracture . The city of Kansas City Kansas could be sued just saying it was a situation that should have been taken care of. DO YOUR JOB. Yes it's confirmed that because of the dog there's a hairline fracture and a contusion. So yes that dog was the cause of this.

Needs more folks to donate. The workers did amazing just to much going on . Otherwise my sister adopted a beautiful white cat.

It was very clean and they were accommodating to meet when I could get there to adopt.

Went today with a cat that has been at my home for 4 days. Ask if they had a pet carrier I could bring her in with as she was scared and she was going to scratch me, they looked at me like I was crazy for asking. They scanned and found the cat to have a address and no phone number, would not let me foster the cat while they found the owners and instead would put on a five day hold. Due to having to put the cat back in the car as it was scratching the hell out of me waiting for them to return as the cat did exactly what I said it would do and they treated me like I was crazy for asking for a carrier, I left with the cat. If they could not handle this situation better why would I trust them to make good decisions for her without an advocate there…….

I took treats, my puppy loves. from Chewy to the puppies there. I will say the staff from this shelter compared to the shelter on Parallel, totally different. When I called to check their hours, I let them know why I wanted to visit. They appreciated the donation. The other shelter doesn't answer my calls and from what others say, it's the same with when they try to call. Are taxpayers funding this place?
