This is a perfect place for a game!! Stumbled upon this place, thinking it was closed. I never would have guessed walking in that I would experience some of the best food I’ve had in Denver in the past seven years. The bar area has plenty of TVs and a wide selection of drinks. The spring rolls are phenomenal. The edamame was fresh. The service was super quick. The other restaurants in the area and come here, seriously.
Visited Anise after getting our snowboards waxed next door to Evo, and overall it was an enjoyable visit! The setting was calm, relaxed, and the restaurant was about half full on a Wednesday night. It felt homey/family room, and the server was very nice, helpful, and attentive. One thing to note is that their Banh Mi is only served during lunch. * Spicy Edamame: Nothing special about this dish, was essentially plain steamed edamame with their signature hot spice drizzled on it, but the sauce is so spicy that they can only use a little bit, which leaves the edamame a little dry and unseasoned could use some more salt. * Shrimp Spring Roll: Probably our favorite item, one of the best spring rolls we've had! Slightly warm, the shrimp tasted fresh, kinda creamy, not rubbery, with the right amount of veggies and rice. I would come back for these alone. * Beef Pho: The broth was really good, light, not too salty, and they don't use MSG. Overall tasted as expected. The dish was light, and overall on the smaller side with less noodles then we've had at other places. * Chicken Stir Fry: Smoky, herby, warm flavor, very comforting. I recommend getting a little bit of their spicy house sauce and putting in on it, was perfect! For the quality of the food and the service, the price was great! We left full under $80 with all the food, tax, and tip. I'd recommend stopping by and trying it out if you find yourself in the area.
Ordered the sautéed pork banh mi and enjoyed it! Seasoning and spices add a lot of flavor to the whole sandwich. I did like the kind of bread used, very baguette-like but a bit soft. Wish it had been toasted just a bit more. The one negative that stood out was the sweetness of the pickled veggies and meat. Overall though, great banh mi in the area. Would come back again for another.
I had heard about this place and wanted to check it out. It wasn’t crowded on a Sunday evening, and I sat at the bar to order and eat. I had to order from a QR code. No paper menus available. I am not a fan of QR codes, but placed my order of a rolls platter. The platter was good sized and a nice variety of rolls was fun to try. I might return in the future to try different dishes.
I really wanted to like this place as I love Vietnamese and my partner and I like to have it frequently... So menu is basic....what's modern about it? The price? I think that's about it. Price was our biggest issue...food tasted good...service was friendly... The pork spring ro appetizer was good and the best value...3 rolls 8 bucks. My partner had the chicken curry with noodles...18bucks....less of a gravy .ore of a soup. Good flavor. I had the pork sausage and grilled pork....the sausage was matey a 1.5oz patty....really small. The grilled pork was tasty...I have no idea what cut they used to roll up and skewer, but the looked like intestines....they were t though. That pork dish was 22 dollars. Not worth it. The price I would assume is why at 6-730pm there was only 2, two tops and 1 person at the bar. Empty.
I rarely give 5 starts but this places become one of my favs in Denver. I ordered the beef phõ and the broth was delicious, good flavor and the meat was great, good portions; to finish, I ordered the famous Vietnamese coffee and I cannot describe how well it was. In addition, the staff was very polite, they constantly asked if my food was okay, the food was ready in my table in just a couple minutes which was great because I was starving. Thank you so much for made my day, I had a wonderful Sunday! Parking: Parking on the street parallel parking. Sundays is free.
Yummy food and excellent service! We 2 girlfriends split Vegetarian Rice Cakes Bánh Căn Chay and Chicken Curry, and the serving sizes were just enough - and we were hungry. Service was excellent and we were greeted, checked on during & after the meal, and greeted as we left. Seems to be family run and all staff seemed to be working well together and enjoying their evening as well.
I decided to visit Anise for lunch and chicken pho was really good. My only concern was the service. The server seemed a little rushed and wasn’t fully attentive.Food: 4/5
We came at happy hour and ordered every spring roll in the menu. The herbs, veggies and meat were super fresh! Combination Pho was incredible, and the Vietnamese chicken salad was flavorful. Will definitely be coming again!Food: 5/5
