Wonderful dining experience. We love to come here. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is fabulous. My favorite is the Chile en Norgado and then flan for dessert.
Fabulous dinner last night! Churrasco Argentino the chimichurri sauce on the steak was HEAVEN!! and Chile En Nogada. Everything was so delicious, and the sauces were so bright! Nothing felt heavy!! Get out and get there! Julia was our server and she was so friendly and helpful! We also had the Platanos Cubanos and Patatas Bravas as our appetizers. Didn't get pics of those though.
One of our favorite spots to dine when we are craving Latin flavors but wish to step outside of the tacos and burritos scene. Fabulous variety of tapas, drinks, and entrees. I highly recommend the Sun Dried Tomato & Roasted Pumpkin Seed Guacamole, a simply AMAZING mingling of flavors. The Cochinita Pibil, or Yucatan style pulled pork, is a popular dish, and deservedly so. Camarones Antigua - what's not to LOVE about cheese-stuffed shrimp blanketed in bacon? And the Salt Air Margarita is a trip to the beach in a glass. If you love Latin food and unique flavors, don't wait another minute - get yourself to this unique and delightful little gem in West Allis!
This is one of our families favorite places. The food is over the top, the wait staff are like family. You know they are a special group of people when the can remember things that have happened in your life and ask about them. Exceptional group. The food, I cannot even compare. We have never been let down very plate we have had is just perfect, flavorful and served to you with knowing they take pride in their restaurant and customers. Also their buy one gift card get one free is something we take advantage of every year. Great job Antigua and staff !
Everything here is incredible! I’ve tried many different dishes and tapas and have never been disappointed. All of the flavors are so complex and unique. My favorites are the amazing empanadas, and delicious shrimp dishes. Meals are a bit pricey but worth every penny. This restaurant is as good as anything in downtown Milwaukee.
I was excited to try this spot as I've heard a lot about it, and I like Latin flavors. Went on a Tuesday with my Wife and one of my Sons. Not many customers when we arrived, normal for a Tuesday in the restaurant biz. Even though I knew it wouldn't be busy, I had made reservations ahead of time. Inside, the place is quite nice. We were greeted by the host and informed her of our reservation. There were two tables occupied at this time, and even with all the open tables and the fact we had reservations Shouldn't that mean you get a decent table? she proceeded to seat us at the table next to the kitchen door. I didn't fuss as I figured with so few dines it wouldn't be too bad, but really WHY would you do that when there's so many open tables? Our waiter was at the table promptly with water and menus, and was Friendly. He gave us the right amount of time to peruse the selections. We opted for no appetizers, Wife ordered the Carne A La Tampiquena, Son ordered the Cochinita Pibil and I ordered the Camarones Antigua. It was difficult for me to find something as I'm on a strict Keto diet. I asked if there was a sub for the rice, the waiter went in back to ask and came back and said they could sub out the rice with a serving of the filling they use for their Cauliflower and walnut tacos. I was grateful for that and the waiter's attentiveness. Now the bad part. It took a very, very long time to start getting the food. Finally, my house salad came out. It was a mix of different greens with a Chimichuri dressing. The dressing was really good, but it seemed like they put the dressing on the plate, and then the greens, as it was pooled on the plate, but none of the greens seemed to have any on them. After another wait, out Mains finally showed. My Son liked his order, especially when he used the corn tortillas to eat it with. My Wife's dinner was supposed to consist of a this grilled steak, a Mole enchilada, Guacamole, rice and beans. When it came, there was no Guac. Her steak was fairly chewy and one end of it had some very dark, almost burned, marks on it. The flavor was good despite the overcooking. She did, however, love the Mole Enchilada . My dish was comprised of 8 shrimp, stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, with a Chipotle sauce, and rice which I mentioned I had swapped out. While the shrimp were tasty, they, too, were a bit overcooked. I will say, the Cauliflower walnut filling for the Taco app they have was delicious! If I could have the Carbs, I'd definitely order those tacos. We'd forgotten to mention the absence of the Gaucamole, when the Waiter came out with a to-go container explaining it was the missing Gaucamole that was supposed to come with her dinner. So, Service from waitstaff was good Service/Wait time from Kitchen-was bad Food had good taste, but two important components were over cooked Not really sure I'd go here again. I can't imagine the kitchen would function better when the place is busy.
Made a reservation to take my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday. We arrived and the restaurant was almost empty - only 3 tables were occupied. There was nobody in the front booth or in the bar area. My boyfriend walked further into the restaurant to see if there was someone to seat us. Nobody was in sight. We waited for about 10 minutes and nobody came to seat us. We left.
Great food! Love the empanadas so, so much. I would recommend eating them with green sauce the sauce that comes with the complimentary bread. I will definitely come try the other seafood dishes later. My pasta dish was OK...just not really a flavor that I liked. But overall service was good. Pricing is decent...a little on the expensive side but the empanadas are worth it.
This is an excellent restaurant. Staff was great and accommodating. Started with some toasted bread and cilantro-cream spread, which was great. We had a pitcher of blackberry infused Spanish Sangria, which was like being back in Spain, so good. Then the seafood paella...practically nothing to complain about! So good, fresh, not fishy-tasting in the least, no spices overpowering one another; it was delicious. There was so much if the paella I could only get through half of it coming from a guy who can kill a full slab of ribs and a half pound of brisket in one sitting, that's saying something. This place is a gem and I really hope they get more business, it's just fantastic.
What a beautiful restaurant! The food was authentic, tasty and perfectly spicy, the service was attentive, kind and helpful, and the overall experience couldn’t have been better. I met the owner, who is a really cool guy and went to every length to make sure we were happy and well-accommodated. The restaurant was comfortable and spacious, and we were comfortable throughout the evening. The highlight was the flan we ordered for dessert, which was exquisite. It was just the right consistency. Its caramelization reached just the right balance of toasty sweetness, and I’m still thinking about it now, even two days later. I’ll go back again just for that, and for the excellent pork enchiladas they served me. It was a memorable evening. Don’t miss the Antigua Latin Inspired Kitchen – it’s highly recommended!
