Wonderful park! This was our first visit and we loved it. So much to do with several playground areas. Nice walking paths around the lake. Cool little mini town setup as well. Restroom facilities are clean. Didn't seem like a ton of parking though.
This is a beautiful park in Merriam, Kansas. It’s a great spot to enjoy a bit of nature without needing to leave the city. It’s a peaceful area and it had two decent sized ponds, both had walking paths and benches around them. There is many places to have a picnic or just sit down and relax and take in some fresh air. We saw a duck, lots of geese, a box turtle, robins and a hawk on our short visit. The park is not small but not massive, so you can walk around and see everything in about an hour I’d say. There is lots of paved walking paths but also some trails in a wooded section with a creek running through it. Just beautiful. There is covered pavilions/gazebos for picnics or hanging out. Fishing is allowed in the ponds and it said they were stocked with largemouth bass and catfish. If you want to experience a slice of nature without leaving the metro this is your place. Easily one of the nicest city parks I’ve been to in Johnson County. Good job Merriam! I will be back in springtime for a picnic with the girlfriend for sure. Playground: Beautiful playground with swings, jungle gyms, slides and playhouses for the children. Restrooms: Restrooms available in the middle of the park in some park office buildings. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome. Doggie bags located around the park in a few spots. Picnic area: Tons of spots available for a picnic. Open grass fields, benches, tables and covered gazebos with tables.
This park is beautiful and has a calming air. There is a lovely flower/rose garden with a nice sitting area that replaced the old fountain. The walkways are wide and even. The park was clean and tidy. The pooch is my baby Bijou. She was enjoying a slow walk recovering from a spay surgery last week. Dog-friendliness: There were a few dogs, all on leash, and walking with their parents.
Great park with a loop around a small lake, short trails, courts for sports, picnic tables by the lake, and a big playground! I always enjoy the community at this park, everyone is super nice and wants to pet the dogs. I’ve seen tons of baby ducks here, just sayin.
A perfect place to walk...with beautiful and relaxing views...the pond in recent years has been low on water, also if you want to start your children fishing it is an excellent place...since it has many bluegill for practice, just remember something, the fish in this place is not suitable for consumption... catch and release... I hope you can visit it. Playground: A big and beautiful place to bring your kids..recommended. Restrooms: decent and spacious Picnic area: Very nice to have a good time with family and friends.
I have taken my daughter to this playground at Antioch Park several times and we always have a good time. There are several playgrounds of various size and varying playground equipment spread out over a good portion of the park. Even when there are many children, I felt comfortable with my 2 year old running around with me not too far. The other parents who bring their kids to the playground are also friendly and supervise their children so you only have to supervise yours. I don't give it 5 starts because for my 2 year old daughter, there wasn't much designed for her age/size range, which held her attention for long.
What a cool free place to take your kids for private adventures!!! When your a single mom trying to just spend your days off with your kid, this place is WONDERFUL for that.
Always a favorite for our family! A lot of pretty spots for relaxing or taking some photos, multiple paths to walk, fun playground equipment for the kids.
What a fantastic park! Plenty of roaming space, lakes with bridges, fountains and stepping stones.....There is an " old town village" with individual buildings for kids to roam in and out ,as well as a statue of a pony to climb on near the Pony Corral. The playground area actually has 3 different or more play areas of varying degrees of skills for kids to play on.This ALSO helps relieve the congestion of everyone playing on the one main set.
Such a beautiful park with lots of ducks, squirrels, birds. Spring and summer time have flowers. Kids playing area, nice and clean place for walking, and hiking trails.
