I have been a patient here for over three years now. I have chronic health problems that I’ve never even gotten the chance to properly address because I’ve never seen a PA for longer than 10 months and that’s not long enough to start making any kind of headway with my issues. In fact the only consistent staff member I’ve seen is the phlebotomist who is lovely. More recently I’ve had much more troubling issues. I have spent the past month and a half trying to reach the office to simply get a shot administered something I do weekly and had not had problems with before. After a month of missing my medication bc I couldn’t reach anyone there I went in person to collect my medicine. Since then I’ve been trying to reach the office to get new injection supplies prescribed and I have not had a single call answered or returned in a timely manner. I will call back 20 minutes after a message is left on my phone and I will get a response the next week. On top of the scheduling and medication problems, I’ve had some billing related issues as well. When I first got a shot administered I was told I wouldn’t need a copay because it wasn’t going to be billed as an appointment— well I found out a month later from someone else that I had a balance from all the copays I hadn’t yet paid because they had secretly been billing me every time I went into get my shot administered. At best it was a miscommunication between the receptionists and the rest of the office but it’s a mistake that cost me in every sense of the word. I don’t make that much money. I wouldn’t have gone in so much if I had been told before hand how much it would have cost me— thats why I asked in the first place. I was mislead. Wether intentionally or on accident, that’s not acceptable. This is ridiculous. My health is in the balance and it has been declining because of their inability to see me or communicate. Today I was called from a completely different location and left a voicemail there because the phone number I was given directed me to lakewood. I do want to say that the staff is very kind. I’ve never had an unpleasant experience with them, and I have no complaints about them. But I’ve been trying to manage my health better and this office has made that a complete nightmare.
They do not pick up the phone or return phone calls. Have gone the whole year without a prescription because they do not respond and my insurance can't get in touch with them. Terrible facility
Can you give no star? Because that’s what this place deserves. I attempted to schedule an appointment in December, and was told they don’t have staff to see people until sometime in January. The staff turnover is about every few months which is why they don’t have time to see patients nor return phone calls. I left several voice messages about getting an appointment in January and also medication refills since having to wait so long to be seen. No call back nor refilling of medication. At this point I’m going to an actual doctors office, avoid this practice if you know what’s good for yourself.
I've been calling the office for 2 weeks requesting a refill of my prescription. I can't get anyone to call me back and have gone without my Rx for 10 days. This has happened several times in the last year. I went into their office during business hours and waited for 10 minutes. No one ever came to the front desk. On top of that my provider changes every 6 months because people keep quitting. I'd recommend finding a different practice.
I am not sure what happened with this place. I have been waiting weeks for a refill of a simple prescription and after several calls from me, the pharmacy, and I even stopped in twice in one week. There was nobody in the waiting room either time I stopped in. They handed me a letterhead with all the doctors names but one crossed out. I don't know what is going but not filling a prescription for weeks while also not having appointments available is kind of unacceptable. I used to have good experiences here but I don't think that I will go back. Too bad because I liked the people I saw there except for the fact that it was a different person every couple of years.
I am not sure where to begin with Apex Family Medicine. The problems started after the sale to SkyLight Health a few years ago, and things continue to go downhill. I had high hopes for Dr. Epping; he is engaging in the exam room, but those hopes diminished after he failed to get back to me about test results after promising to call me back. I called and got a response from tech, but if you make a promise, deliver on it. My new issue is a simple billing problem I have been dealing with for almost three months. Apex simply needs to bill the correct insurance company. After calling two times, stopping by in person, and sending messages on the patient portal, I still have no resolution. At the end of the day, if this provider is unable to do something simple like fixing a billing issue, how can they tackle someone's health issue?
I don't know what has happened to this place but it seems like ever since Mia Scott left it has gone down the toilet. I have now been over ten days without my prescriptions because they won't call the pharmacy back. I have tried to call 4-5 times a day and no one will answer. It's all routed to a phone tree. Even when I do leave a message, which has now been several, I never get a call back. Apex you need to shape up or you are going to lose a lot of very loyal patients.
I switched my Dr. That was 5min away to drive 40plus min out to go to this place. Being in the healthcare field I understand the issues we have but patience goes along way! I agree medications are important and I went without mine for almost 2 weeks! When doing some digging pharmacy was blaming it on confirmation from dr. I found out it was actually the pharmacy really behind and putting off the blame. I see a therapist as well that sent them a prescription I had and the same thing happened. My therapist said it was not true and she spoke to them multiple times & sent over the refill prescription multiple times as well! I know this isn’t ideal but not fair to put the blame on the dr office. When I called before finding this all out I left a voicemail & got a call back less then an hour later. They also reached out to the pharmacy as well. I love the staff here and the Drs. & I will continue to keep going here for their Competence & great bedside manner.
Office is closed due to a transition to another company, with no communication to patients. Sign on their door says they are answering calls which is totally false. New company does not have access to records and the person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. I shouldn’t be surprised given how terrible their office has been since day one. If you’re struggling to get a refill on an important prescription. like me, try an Urgent Care CareNow specifically said they can take care of this for me.
They have put me at risk. I have called, left multiple messages for 2 1/2 weeks straight. I finally had to take off work to try and see them in person. The hours are listed to be open until 5. I arrived 442 pm no one was in the office.
