FOCC is an auxiliary membership group of the Arkansas Arts Center (AAC) dedicated to furthering the mission of the AAC.

Story

The Friends of Contemporary Craft (FOCC) is an auxiliary membership group of the Arkansas Arts Center (AAC) that is dedicated to furthering the mission of the Arkansas Arts Center.

FOCC PURPOSE

1. To foster interest and support for the Arkansas Arts Center’s collection of contemporary craft and its related exhibitions, program, collecting activities and special events.
2. To offer its members and the public opportunities to develop a critical understanding of and appreciation for the contemporary craft field and the artists therein.
3. To assist the Curator of Contemporary Craft in fulfilling the department’s mission.

FOCC MEMBERSHIP

A member of the Friends of Contemporary Craft (FOCC) must be a current member of the Arkansas Arts Center and is an individual who pays FOCC dues annually. The period of membership shall be concurrent with their membership to the Arkansas Arts Center. The FOCC dues shall be established by the AAC Director of Development with consent from the FOCC Advisory Committee.

Eligibility: To be eligible for membership to the FOCC an individual must be a member of the Arkansas Arts Center.

Authority: The FOCC members, collectively, shall have the following powers by majority vote at the FOCC annual membership meeting:

· To elect members to the FOCC Advisory Committee;
· To amend the FOCC by-laws;
· To authorize the Advisory Committee to take action throughout the year in the name of the FOCC.

FOCC ANNUAL MEETING

An annual meeting of the membership of the FOCC shall be held in June and shall be the last meeting of the fiscal year. The FOCC Advisory Committee shall determine the time and location and shall provide sufficient notice to the full membership in advance of the meeting. The FOCC Chairperson shall preside at the meeting and shall provide the membership with a report of the year’s significant activities and fiscal position.

FOCC ADVISORY COMMITTEE POWERS AND DUTIES

The FOCC Advisory Committee shall operate within the by-laws and operations of the Arkansas Arts Center and shall work closely with the staff of the Arkansas Arts Center in support of the organizational mission.
