Prideful and wise in their own conceit. Do not follow through with holds. Manager is proud and disingenuous. I pity them.
For this place supposedly suppose to have support and programs to help kids they do promote respect. The upstairs staff and downstairs staff is very disrespectful to customers and younger kids. I tried talking to the building manager about my complaints, no help she's disrespectful as well. Don't need to have a job at a rec center if they are going to treat kids and customers poorly. Threatens to kick the kids out if they talk back but the way they are talking to them is highly inappropriate. I have plenty experience working with kids and the way the staff treat there customers and kids here is not appropriate. Don't come to work if your going to take things from.your personal life out onto the kids at work. A rec center is suppose to be about respect being role model for the kids yelling at the kids but expecting them not to yell is not being a good role model kids act the way there taught. Why yell at the kids but get mad if they yell. Be an example!!
Fantastic! One of the finest recreation centers in St. Paul this center has some great features. The center has a nice gym and indoor running track. It also shares space with the St. Paul library. So, after a good workout in the workout room or gym relax with a nice book in the library. This center also has a Createch room. This where teens are encouraged to be creative and enjoy time with each other in a positive, creative lab. The center still feels brand new even though it's a few years old. When we need more spaces now more than ever that bring cultures and community together, this place provides a safe, positive environment to do so. Always call ahead to find out what is available. ProgramS availability and times can change along with center guidelines for covid mitigation. Great space, great programs, great staff! Enjoy!
The impact that the rec center library has on the area that if then is a five-star go check it out if you haven't been good selection of books and other things to do
The only decent staff here is the library staff the front desk staff and downstairs and upstairs staff is disrespectful to customers and treat kids very poorly with the way they talk
Very loud here, even in the library part. My children enjoy it though because of the Create Tech program. The library part does not have a very large selection. It is more "community center" than it is library. I prefer the Sunray Library, better selection of books.
For older kids who can speak up and stand up for themselves I highly recommended but not for kids who don’t have there parents with them with because the staff will take the kids for advantage and yell and disrespect them
Here's what you need to know: Parking: Lot with chargers for battery-run cars Age range playground: 1+ Sidewalks: Well and amply paved to both the community center and playground Seating: A couple of benches Bathrooms: Inside community center Picnic tables: Yes 3 Grills: None Sports field: One soccer field We opted to visit the playground first, so we parked in the section further from the main entrance to AHCC. Although there was plenty of room to park today, expect competitive parking during non- and after-school hours. The playground is about a one minute walk from the parking lot. We passed all three picnic tables on our way there non-shaded, unfortunately. The playground is well-used and very simple in its construction. At the same time, we easily spent a good 45 minutes out here and my kids asked to go back after we had gone inside to check out the library. Perhaps my favorite part of the play area is its synthetic flooring: nothing gets stuck inside shoes or threatens splinters. I don't have to worry about it overheating on hot summer days or causing major scabs should one of my kids fall. The playground is split into two areas. The first has a slide, some plastic log tunnels, a little climbing rock, and two baby swings. This area was perfect for my 15-month-old. She could climb up and down the slide and stairs without my help. Off to the side of this area is also a sliver of a sand "box" see picture. The second area was perfect for my 3- and 4-year-olds. It has a huge climbing net, a small climbing wall, a twirly pole sorry; I still don't know what this is called!, and either stairs or climbing steps to get up to the slide. Off to the side of the big kid area is what we called a "lazy swing." Think of it as a plastic hammock. All three kiddos were able to lay on it and ride together. We headed inside to check out the library section of the community center it also has a gym, community rooms, fitness center, and a tech room for teens, from what we saw. It's tiny in comparison to other libraries we have been to, but I was incredibly impressed with the children's section which is smartly tucked into a corner, away from all other distractions!. AHCC gets an A for its variety of toys, which consisted of a bakery, doll house, kitchenette, and magnet board with letters. For the size of the library, the quality of the kids' section is incredible. While I don't plan on visiting very often due to how busy AHCC gets, I strongly recommend it for anyone who lives nearby. It was definitely a wise and worthwhile investment on the city's part.
Grateful for the vending machines and the staff was nice. Disappointed that they seem to only have one gym though.
Just was studying Japanese while listening to music.
