Good old school Mexican-American restaurant. It's in the Barrio and most of the patrons speak Spanish. Nothing very adventurous or trendy on the menu, the standard enchilada, taco, tostada combo meals but done well. The rice is great, with carrots corn and peas like your abuela used to make. The beans are a little bland and on the watery side, but that is so common it's hardly worth noting. The hot salsa has the roasted jalapenos for that back of the throat bite like the hot sauce at Connie's. An okay place for vegetarians, there is a section on the menu with three different veggie combos. A little tougher for vegans to eat here, I guess they could live on the rice, beans, guacamole, chips and salsa. The service here is excellent: my chips, salsa and beverage got refilled every time they got about half empty. Very attentive and polite. The decor is left over from the previous tenants, which is a good thing. The murals are still on the wall but they no longer serve that awesome tacos al pastor that the old owners used to make.
Delicious food, great service. We try the azada burrito and the mix fajitas, good portions, great flavor, we totally recommend this place.
We’re not from here, so when driving around looking for a restaurant we came across Armando’s and decided to try it. There wasn’t many people there so we were a little iffy. We were treated very well, party of 7 and everyones food was delicious! We didn’t wait more than 10 mins for the food. The micheladas were really good. Loved the decor. Will definitely come back when we come back again!!
Great food great service
Always good. Service can be slow. Good food, good value. Really, the only downside is that there's usually only one or two servers...at least when we've gone. The servers are very nice, though.
I thought the food was good enough. I was going to try a different taco place around the corner but they didn't take cash. Went to this one instead. They don't seem too busy which made me wonder but it was good. Kind of a tex mex fare... at least what I ordered.
Great place! Wonderful food, you get a lot for your money. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Stop what you are doing and go eat here! This is a new restaurant and the proprietor just can't seem to get people in the door! Food is really good and reasonably priced and I don't want to see this place go under just because people don't know it's here!
As per my MO, I went with the torta asada. To date, this is the best place for quality and flavor of the meat. Their salsa roja is unusual in that its texture is similar to a puree and its flavor somewhat approximates an ahogada. My initial thought was that I should save it and use it for spaghetti sauce, but the quantity provided was insufficient for such purpose. Plenty of indoor seating in a more traditional dine-in setting, expansive menu although, torta isn't on the menu itself, friendly staff, and very reasonably priced.
Dont get the menudo here. It was bad and more juice than food. No flavor. Better off going to buy canned menudo at walmart and cooking it at home.
