We wanted a new $629 water heater installed in a very easy set up. This company wanted $1,800 ON TOP of the price of the water heater. I can't begin to express how unreasonable and a complete rip off this estimate was. Shameful. Not trying to make someone else rich for NO good reason. This is an EASY install. Very predatory pricing even if other companies want to overcharge this much. Bottom line, this is a complete rip off to ask this much for an easy install. 3 TIMES the amount of the unit itself! If folks are paying this much you all need to really think what you are paying for and shop around for a local guy not a large company or do it yourself. Be ashamed ARS and any others preying on customers like this.
We purchased a new furnace and AC system in April of 2024. The price point was great for the two combined, and the warranty we got is very helpful, especially because we’ve had to have someone come out to look at it twice now - in a 2 month span. First, when the installers came out and did it, they left trash absolutely everywhere. I received a call from Leslie asking how our experience was, and when I told her that I had to pick up all their trash off the ground - and out of my dogs mouths’ - I wasn’t offered to have them come back out to pick up after themselves. Instead I was met with “we’ll let them know”. The first time we had to have a technician come out was because our system kept shutting on and then off a few minutes later. Come to find out when the two installers came out and did it, they filled the piping wrong and it was backing up with water. We were essentially without air for 17 hours on the hottest day of the year so far - thank you ARS. Now someone else has to come out because water is leaking from the inside unit into my house. The scheduling department also needs major work. Yes, every time I call I’m able to speak with someone usually right away, however, they say they will schedule you for a certain time between 10 and 2 and they actually schedule you for a later time between 2 and 6. I would not recommend ARS to anyone for any needs. EDITED TO ADD - We’ve now had 2 technicians come out to our house to look at the leak. Both put more tape on it and it is still leaking. Second technician showed up 2 hours after calling to say they were on their way.
I had a new 5 star system installed. So far the system is preforming exceptionally. The installers came out and did a great job with a clean timely install. Avery did a great job explaining everything and keeping a good attention to detail while completing the install. We had a little water leak from having to remove the hot water heater and a plumber was dispatched in a timely fashion making things right. Overall they made making a major financial decision easy and reassuring.
Got an email from this company offering a free estimate. Since I have no air conditioning whatsoever I decided to try them out! I want an estimate anyways to budget for the work to be done! Called, got scheduled for someone to come out. The tech came out and said an install manager needed to come out for a proper estimate. Scheduled for an install manager… got rescheduled at the last minute so scheduled again, got rescheduled again and then they quit contacting us. I don’t know how a company stays in business when they won’t even show up for the job. Don’t call them, they are NOT reliable at all!!!!!
I've had my current RHEEM system installed by ARS for about 5 years. During this time, I've spent an additional $3,000 servicing my system. Had an evaporator coil break and needed two capacitors replaced. I found out that if you try to use the WARRANTY on the system they recommend, they charge you more for the service. The pricing structure for service at ARS is atrocious. $500 for a warranty fix for a capacitor is robbery. 1 hour of work does not equate to $500. The technicians and scheduling departments are great. The people are easy to work with. It's how they try to squeeze every dollar out of you they can. I will never use ARS after this fiasco and recommend others to use a different company. Edit: This is in response. A premium seller with unmatched service? What unmatched service? Over charging for work and charging more for warranty work? I've had to repair my system multiple times since it's been installed. There is absolutely NOTHING premium about that.
William did an excellent job installing the condensing water heater system for me. He clearly explained how everything works. He did a great job, along with his fellow workman, cleaning up after the install. I am very impressed and would not hesitate to recommend William and ARS to anyone needing their services.
so I’m really quite torn about this review. As a realtor, I have been recommending ARS to many of my clients as well as my own personal home. They have done a great job of not over pricing doing a good and clean job and just being honest. However, their plumbing department has a lot to be desired. I called to have a simple gas line changed on my gas stove. I was made aware of $109 service charge to show up. They said on the phone that they didn’t think it’d be much more than that and I accepted that that would be a sufficient answer to my questions. When the plumber came out to do the estimate, he quoted me nearly $380. This is out I told him that to his face. This is completely outrageous for a simple change out. He informed me that that is the rate that they charge and he could do nothing about that other than drop it down to $250 so clearly from 380 to 250 there was wiggle room. However, he said I’ll walk away and you won’t have to pay anything if you don’t want me to do it. I agreed to that I’m not paying him anything to change out the line and I’ll clearly have to call another plumber to do the work. But it’s very very disappointing after the great service that I received for heating and air that I would have such dismal respect for cost of changing out a simple gas line on a stove. This is why I’m torn. I will still continue to recommend your company for heating and air. But I’ll be dead before I think about giving you a recommendation for your plumbing. Whoever is pricing your plumbing is crazy
Logan helped us understand our heating and cooling needs. Our system was almost 30 years old. Condenser no longer worked. Furnace had repairs done over the last 2 winters. Not fun when temps fall and no one can get out for 2-3 days. He helped see the value of replacing entire system. We agreed. And now the next day everything is being replaced. Very very satisfied with pricing and warranties. And professional service. Highly recommend considering this company for a quote.
Scheduled day of, got canceled on me as the techs didn't have time. Scheduled for next morning, they never booked booked me for the morning and didn't notify me and instead pushed it to the afternoon. Got a call the guy was 20 mins out, 45 mins later, he shows up. Not very professional. Plumbing issues are stressful, I don't need this on top of it. The guy was fine, but he wouldn't service my possibly septic related issue and needed someone with more knowledge, but at this point it was too late in the day to get another guy out. Then they want to schedule for monday after I took a bird bath with a rag because I have to minimize water going down the drain. I ended up clearing the drain issue myself with a rental snake. Find someone else who charges more for drain clean outs, they'll just do the drain clean out rather then looking for the up charge. If I had a plumber yesterday and a septic guy rescheduled for today, I likely would have gone through with it. Not going to do that after so many missed time slots.
Logan O. Came out to do a check on my system which was a new install. He was very informative and helpful about the workings of the system the warranties, possible problems and it would have and the required maintenance involved to maintain the warranties. Very pleased with all his help and information.
