The History of Art's Mexican Food Products
In 1961, Art's Mexican Products was established in Armourdale, KS by Arthur and Angela Gutierrez. Art's Mexican Products was originally located at 4th & Kansas Avenue. Four years later, Art's relocated to its current location at 615 Kansas Avenue, Kansas City, KS. This location initially housed a restaurant, grocery store and tortilla manufacturing plant. The restaurant closed in the 1970's to allow for more manufacturing space as Art's Mexican Products began to expand its wholesale sales. When Arthur Gutierrez retired in the 1980's, his son, Robert Gutierrez and daughter, Rachael Gutierrez Kelley joined the business full time. Arthur Gutierrez passed away in February of 2001 and was followed by Robert Gutierrez in July of 2011. Today the company is both owned and managed by Rachael Gutierrez Kelley.

Art's Mexican Products has grown into a wholesale Mexican food company that serves over 75 Restaurants and more than 50 grocery stores in the Kansas City Metro area. Art's Mexican Products still continues to have a retail outlet store at 615 Kansas Avenue where the company produces and sells its all natural fresh white corn tortillas along with many other Mexican food products. Our white corn tortillas, organic blue corn tortillas, both white and blue chips, taco shells, tostada shells, sauces and spices are all available in our retail store. Some of these food products are also available for purchase through the web site store.
Our Specialty
We have always separated ourselves from the competition by creating a very thin white corn tortilla. Today, our thin white tortilla is still the specialty at Art's Mexican Products, but we also manufacture another tortilla that is twice as thick.
As Arthur Gutierrez, Sr, once said, "Anyone can make a thick tortilla, it takes an artist to make them thin."
