I have had several crowns over the years and have even had teeth pulled. The crowns never fit correctly no matter how many times I returned and my bite never felt "solid." I wanted to have reconstructive work however had heard so many stories of others who had poor quality work, infection and sometimes were worse after treatment than before! When I met Dr. Chal for a consultation I experienced a level of professionalism and expertise far beyond my expectation. Every step in the procedure he uses is evidence based and at the highest standard of care and is available very few dental practices in the country. In addition to receiving a beautiful and totally natural fitting zirconium bridge, I had the please of being cared for by Dr. Chal and his excellent staff. They make a special effort to ensure you are comfortable throughout every procedure and are well informed about all options. You will not regret choosing Dr. Chal, he is truly the best!
Absolutely the best dentist I have ever been to! I came to Phoenix just over two years ago with severe TMJ TMD, and an entire mouth full of problems… mostly from poor dentistry from my childhood and college at NYU. My case was one of the most difficult ones on record, and I was in a lot of pain. When I first visited Arthur Chal, it was the first time I ever felt confident that I would end up with a great, pain free smile. He really educated me on what I was facing and always told me all of my options. Even more, when he realized the extent of my dental issues, he was able to call on a team of experts in the Valley so that the proper care and attention could be paid to each of my areas of concern, from root canals, to gum surgery, to wisdom teeth extraction, to hand crafted crowns for every tooth. I am truly grateful that I found Dr. Chal and decided to pursue care with him and his team- without them I know I would be destined to a life of difficulty and pain. At 24, as one of his youngest-ever patients with serious dental problems, I am happy to say that I have a set of beautiful new teeth that truly feel like my own, and that will last me a lifetime. Now that my process has been completed, I look forward to smiling with confidence, and the continued care that this professional team will be giving me. Dr. Chal receives my highest recommendation.
I started my search that lead to Dr. Chal because I lost my dental appliance I was using at the time. I was so frustrated when this happened and yet it has turned out to be the start of a great thing! Since I have started seeing Dr. Chal my jaw, neck, and shoulder pain have been reduced drastically and mostly it is non existent. I was not getting this same result from the doctor I had gone to before this. At best I could have said I felt better, but far from pain free. I have to admit I really didn't “get” the whole value Dr. Chal’s office brings when I first got started. However, as I would see other doctors Dr. Chal referred me to I would get “ahh yes, he is very particular” I got that one a lot and “He is a great doctor, you are in good hands”. I was at the lab getting fitted for a crown and they told me Dr. Chal goes to the lab to see each piece of work to make sure it’s perfect before he excepts it. WOW! Whens the last time you had a doctor do something like that? Dr. Chal was removing some bad crowns in preparation for some badly needed dental surgery. He called the doctor that he was sending me to and the other doctor dropped in so he could see my teeth before the surgery. I was amazed! I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m hoping this helps someone the same way prior reviews help me make a decision to see Dr. Chal. I've been to many other doctors and pain clinics and no one has ever been able to help me and put together a total package the way Dr. Chal has. I have to say getting the relief from a life time of TMJ has made a world of difference in the quality of my day to day life. Cindy Jordan.
Have you ever mused that having major dental work is like a day at the spa? If you are Dr. Chal’s patient, you might. The office is expertly run. I am a former hospital administrator…trust me on this. Dr. Chal’s assistant, Lisa, is experienced and kind. And Dr. Chal is outstanding. A proud perfectionist, he is 100% focused on the patient. He makes sure you are comfortable and then he fixes your dental problems. Beautifully. The crowns look and feel better than my natural teeth! In the past, I had been terrorized by almost every dentist I had been to. Some were oblivious to pain…several misdiagnosed issues…one yelled at me because he was angry at his staff I am not joking. Needless to say, I neglected my teeth, and I was hurting. But not any more. This is concierge dentistry at its finest. Yes, treatment in Dr. Chal’s office is expensive. And, yes, you get what you pay for. YOU are worth it!
I posted a review here several years ago, giving Dr. Chal the credit for saving my life. I had an infection in my bloodstream, and had lost weight without trying. I felt terrible. I had had a root canal about three months before and I told the endodontist it still hurt. He said it couldn't hurt because I had a root canal and told me to be patient. I called Dr. Chal, who, after eliminating other causes, brain tumor, sinus trouble, and TMJ, took my case. He sent me to Dr. Doyen, who pulled the offending teeth, and Dr. Chal built me a bridge of zirconium crowns. Fast forward to today, and Dr. Chal has given me a full mouth reconstruction. All my teeth are zirconium crowns, and on each one Dr. Chal cleaned out the decay that was up to 40 years old and gave me a fresh start! Every time I had an appointment to do some more teeth, I felt better. Now, I feel the best I have in six years, and it's really true that bad teeth can affect your whole health. And my teeth are beautiful. And I sent my husband, Richard, who also had a full mouth reconstruction, and is feeling great, too. Dr. Chal is the best in the business, in my opinion!
As a medical professional I know how important my dental health is to my overall health and well being. The quality of my smile is very important to me, and Dr Chal and his staff have given me, over the years, the very best care. As a result, I have a beautiful smile that I am proud of. He is also an expert at the most difficult dental problems, and that is why I never hesitate to send the most challenging patients to him. He stays current with evidence based practice, so I know that he will offer solid dental care that will last; not treatments that are trendy or the newest fad. With the eye of an artist Dr Chal's results are amazing. His staff is warm, caring and highly skilled. It doesn't get any better than this.
Dr Chal helped treat my wife's very in depth dental problem that was met with shrugs and blank looks elsewhere. He has a great team of supporting physicians and specialists that he was able to communicate the problem with and come to a consensus as to the best method of treatment. My wife and I would like to express our sincere thanks to his office staff and all members of his team. Their thorough attention to detail and level of compassion is unsurpassed.
When I moved to the Phoenix area six years ago, one of the first items on my agenda was finding a new dentist. My mother's dentist in Pittsburgh, PA, who I had always put on a pedestal, recommended Dr. Chal. He said if he had to go to another dentist, Dr. Chal would be his first pick! That was all I had to hear. My husband and I have patients of Dr. Chal's for six years, and we always have big bright smiles when we leave his office. While neither or us have had any major dental issues other than some replacement crowns, we know that we are in good hands. He has the scope of knowledge, experience, and technical know-how, and he has a great chairside manner. Also, he does the cleaning with a prophy jet, no sitting in the chair for over an hour with a hygienist poking at your gums! If going to the dentist can be pleasant, a visit to Dr. Chal is it!
Dr. Chal, Lesa, and Karen are a rare breed in the world today. The expertise, care, and time put into each patient is unheard of, both in the world of dentistry and medicine. I first saw Dr. Chal for TMJ related pain. I was a 23 year old graduate student at the time and felt that the cost was going to be way out of my price range. It was, but I wouldn't have done things any differently. I currently live in Minnesota and still consider the trip to be well worth the time, effort, and money when self-imposed issues arise. Dr. Chal understands his immense responsibility in treating such a difficult problem. While you are his patient you are under his charge and responsibility and you notice it! You are not a number, you are treated like family, and the work from my experience is flawless! Dr. Chal's practice is an art form and “art form” is not a term I use lightly. Dr. Chal describes his practice as "distinctive" but I don't believe that term fully captures the level of expertise I witnessed in his office. When I first discovered that I had TMJ damage, all I heard from others was that there was no “fix” outside of surgery - which doesn't guarantee success either and can actually make it worse if not done properly. As a current faculty member at the University of Minnesota Duluth, I would recommend Dr. Chal's services to anybody who is feeling hopeless in their pain. Not only does he fix problems, he educates his patients. He educates you to know exactly what to look for and what not to look for in a dentist. Furthermore, there was never a time I felt “in the dark” during treatment… another rare experience for patients today. I consider Dr. Chal’s practice a model of excellence upon which I hope to build a psychology practice someday. If I could summarize what I learned from Dr. Chal it would be the following: 1. The power of a brutally precise diagnosis with no room for error, 2. the importance of a fully customized treatment plan for each patient, 3. the significance of a clinic that feels less like a clinic and more like an upscale hotel lobby, and 4. the potency of having an interpersonal ability that makes your patient feel less like a patient and more like a family member… who just happens to have a relative that is the most brilliant dentist in the nation.
I am the type of person who wants a doctor's doctor. I want the kind of doctor that knows the latest techniques, what truly works and what doesn't. My doctor needs to be highly educated, a perfectionist, with skillls to match, someone who is recognized as one of the very best in his profession.and someone with the experience and in depth knowledge to solve any and all issues I may walk in. My doctor needs to be the best available, and that is why I have stayed with Dr Chal for 30+ years. My smile is perfect and my teeth are perfect. If you are like me, and only want the best in medical care, then Dr. Chal is the only one for you.
